I'm really surprised that they're adding some non-DJ acts to the lineup.
 
it's an interesting development. i think it's more to show that they're a "festival" and not a "rave" but that's just my theory.
 
isn't starscape starting earlier in the day this year than it did last year? maybe the idea is to have the bands be an early evening thing with the dance music getting cranked up later. i think it would be kinda cool to watch the sun go down with some more natural tunes going on and then having things progress towards the bumpin beats, not that i'm gonna be there early enough anyway. the other option of moving between jam band and EDM music areas late night would be kinda wierd to say the least...but maybe not totally uninteresting.

i couldn't think of any more succinct way of describing the non-dance stuff.

calling it "organic" music sounded too stuffy to me.

According to the Web site, it looks as though they are going to have a live stage set up for the entire evening with DJs playing between sets.

neat...i've never been to an event with this kind of set up before. can't wait to see how it all works. there is definitely credit due here for keeping things fresh and exciting.
 
I haven't seen MMW in years, I'm definatly hyped. Just give me some Bela Fleck and the Flecktones now and I'll be set. Victor Wooten rocks!
