Maximum amount of time for withdrawal symptoms to develop

If I stop taking Clonazepam right now what is the maximum amount of time that withdrawal symptoms would take to develop?

Also does using 1.5 mg once or twice a week, 6 -7 times a month put me at risk for withdrawal?

Thanks

That type of use is not going to cause withdrawal. Well maybe if its beena loooonggg time taking it like that, but even then there wouldn't be much to worry about.

Definitely wouldn't worry about WD symptoms at all, you would need to be using daily for a while, once or twice a week is nothing, don't sweat it.

as every one else already said your in the clear. What happens when a drug is taken all the time the brain readjusts back down to base line including the drug. when the drug is then removed the system is all out whack as its used to having the drug included. When the drug is removed or dosage lowered we then experience the withdrawal symptoms because of this. Sporadic use of benzos will never cause withdraws to any big extent.

Would be interesting to know how long this usage went on for. Regardless you are spacing it out enough to give the brain adequate time to readjust to not having the medication, so you should avoid any withdrawal. I could see someone with steady use like this for like 3+ years feeling a bit off and some rebound anxiety. The longer you have maintained that use the stronger the mental aspect, knowing you don't have that mental crutch.

BTW is you do start feeling w/d it will happen within 3 days. The way you are taking it I would look at it like this.... if you go 24 past your expected dose without taking it and have no issues, you should be in the clear.

If you do have issues with it or are overly concerned to abruptly stop, you can always taper the use. You didn't dose very often but 1.5 mg is decent sized dose, I can't see any reason not to taper it.

I've been doing this for about 3 years, but I have taken month long breaks about once a year.

Do you think I should take my dosage 5 times a month just to be on the safe side?

We would all recommend you just quit dosing, opiates are very addictive.

However, you are being very responsible and rational with your use so you should be fine.

Less is more.
