Max Tolerance?

Is there a maximum tolerance to particular drugs? I mean take Oxycodone. You start at 20mg, work your way to 120mg, you even hear of people taking 300mg a day. But is there a point at which that stops? Surely there must be some point at which your brain is "saturated" with the drug.

With bupe, 32mg is said to be the ceiling dose, anything above that is wasted. Same with marijuana, you hit a ceiling, and no matter how many blunts you smoke, you will not past that ceiling.

curious about this. what would you say is the ceiling dose of marijuanna? likeeee not cali green but average joe dro? hahah how many grams

I did a limited amount of searching, but could not come up with any definitive numbers. Anyways, the ceiling effect of marijuana would not be measure in ''grams'', it would be measured in units of THC. Every strain of weed has different percentages of THC and other cannabinoids, so it is very hard to pin down an accurate answer. It also probably varies from person to person. There definitely is a point though, that your receptors get so saturated that continuing to smoke does not increase the high or do anything. There is just no where for the THC and whatnot to go..

with weed it is going to completly relay on how much and how often you smoke

This is worth reading, even though it's only talking about heroin, I feel it can be applied to all opiates (with the exception of codeine, of course).

Looks like, at least in the study mentioned, when given access to an unlimited amount of heroin, the users in question used more and more to adjust for their increasing tolerance until they got to 2,000mg a day, at which point they leveled out.

Of course, 2,000mg a day is a really really really high dose, and most people would never get to that high of a dose of heroin (or equivalent dose of another opiate).

There is no ceiling dose for oxycodone like there is for codeine. The ceiling dose for Codeine is 400mg. I was using up to 400mg of oxycodone and I could have always gotten higher. When I was using heroin it was the same, I was using 2 grams a day and could have always of used more.
