Math teacher in trouble for giving exam that referenced drugs

My 8th grade science teacher got busted for cocaine possession this week.

Or at least, that's what I've heard; this has yet to develop.

Sorry, I just had to tell someone.

no kidding

I had a physics teacher in High School that had test questions like "your teacher kills the most overweight student, who weighs 300 pounds...he drags him 16 meters or whatever..." and nobody cared.

Must be a thing with physics teachers.... My yr 11 physics teacher would always use someone in the class as an example when an object had to be propelled out of a cannon or hit by a bus. We didnt have him demoted. Only in America.

I know some of y'all are a younger crowd, I am almost 31, and I remember seeing this "joke test" in high school like 15 years ago, it is so old. I thought it was funny then, and I think it is funny now. I even posted a copy of it on the fridge at my Dad's house, even he thought it was funny. People take things way to seriously nowadays. If the teacher gets in serious trouble for it, now that would not be funny.

I have seen it before as well, it's nothing new. I think it's a good way for a teacher to break the ice at the start of the year, why not try and relate to kids, I mean these days everyone knows something about drugs or at least what they are.

Yea I can see some kids not knowing what an 8ball is but they should know how many grams go into an ounce and otherwise be familiar with metric measurements. Unless this is some school where the metric system is not taught.

umm, an ounce is not a metric measurement. there's no reason your average person would know how many grams are in an ounce.

Do a survey of those who know the conversion off the top of their heads and arrest them then :\

Shit, I hope it's not 28...

No it's not, it's 28.3495231.

but you can't expect a dealer to have a scale that accurate. however if youre getting a o that weighs 28 grams you can techinically claim youre getting shorted.

June White Dillard, president of the Prince George's chapter of the NAACP, said the school system should give the teacher a more serious punishment. "We can't have these negative stereotypes going on," she said. "It was extremely poor judgment. We want this to be lesson to all of the teachers."
"these negative stereotypes"?...Of mathematics teachers? Since when were teachers stereotyped as gang members? What is she on about?

Im guessing the NAACP homie was sayin that it was stereotypes of black and hispanic youth sellin stolen cars and drugs. juan, jose, aight.

but the funny part is, in the word problem, "willie" aint said to be black or white. so actually, NAACP dude was stereotyping too, by assuming that the kid selling the hot cars was black, LOL.

but this story is OLD as SHIT. I remember hearing the exact one when i was in 4th grade, in readers digest. Except he was stealing Jeeps and Suburbans instead of corvettes and whateva. This shit aint new. This story has been circulating around in different forms for many years.

(PS - word. i just re-read it. the email joke was distributed as a test.)

Yea, so that email is mad old and apparently this has happened before and sent around in a email and now dude is gettin in trouble again for some gay shit that already got someone else in trouble before.

WHo the fuck cares? Do drugs and weapons not exist?

If itwas 1st graders that would be different. this is highschoolers. the only people who care are the stuffy ass parents.

Why the fuck should the adult world not expect or allow young adults to have a sense of humor? I dont know any kid at that age , unless they were the sheltered little mommy and daddys baby type, that wouldnt know that was a joke, and wouldnt find it a lil bit amusing if not hilarious. WHY SHOULDNT humor be in the classroom? LIFE is a fucking joke.

Think I will try that and see what happens ;-)
