Being more fit definitely boosts sexual confidence. Sex is an immersive thing where the lines are blurred between enjoying yourself and the other. Feeling sexy can also be both a dominant and a submissive act.

I have been asking this question, too. It's a really good question - but my answer is no. It doesn't make us gay that we can feel sexy within as well as finding others sexy. What makes us gay then?
