Massive MDMA binge, triggered severe insomnia

Last Friday through to Sunday I consumed 5 grams of MDMA over the course of the weekend. I had around 4 hours sleep Sunday morning and have not been able to sleep since. It's hard to know where to put this thread because I have recently quit cannabis after been a heavy user. Since quitting weed I have been drinking not heavily but enough to help me sleep. Since the heavy MDMA use I have suffered severe anxiety, heart palpitations and lost the ability to feel tired. I only feel terrible. If I do manage to fall asleep I have horrific nightmares and wake up terrified only sleeping an hour at a time. I have been managing to maintain a working life (just) but i am terrified I have caused permanent damage. Even alcohol isn't working, if I ever get out of this I intend to be tee total. I have bounced from heavy cannabis use to alcohol use sometime at the same time for years I just want to be a normal person now, can any one offer any advice or similar experiences?
 
HOLY FUCK. 5 grams? Dude... I mean this in the least offensive way possible, but how is that even fucking possible?!?!?!!! How could you possibly need over 10 times the amount that has me peaked off my face for 8 hours?


Melatonin (a metabolite of serotonin) is responsible for regulating our sleep cycles, it's very possible this ridiculous abuse could have set it off kilter, disrupting your normal patterns in the short term. Stop drinking dude, that is not helping ANYTHING. Pick up some OTC melatonin pills and see if that helps... but please, take it easy on the drugs.
 
I did only 400mg and have sleep issues. Wake up each hour and terrible dreams. If I wake up from a bad nightmare then it will have my heart pounding for hours and my brain scattering to find itself. It's definitely a scary thing.

I tried melatonin pills, don't work. However, closing all the shades and making sure it's pitch dark does help a little bit. Odd considering that is supposed to increase melatonin production. It is perhaps that the pills release too much melatonin at once? Not sure..

The other very helpful thing is picking up Magnesium Citrate. Take 400mg 1hr before bed each night. I recently picked those up and seems to help me sleep better. Still wake up every hour but fall back asleep immediately and that seems to help a lot.

400mg is an awful lot...5,000mg (5 grams) is enough for 41 dosages at 120 mg a dose...we are talking years worth of MDMA in one weekend!!!!8o8(8o
 
I've done such a thing not unlike you, consume copious amounts in a short period. What ended was was me getting into a bout of sleep paralysis (ever hallucinated that your girlfriend was pinning you down to kill you and feel like you can't breathe?) and I was fucking terrified of going to bed. This is something you'll just have to wait out and do not consume alcohol. Sleeping on alcohol prevents you from getting any real legitimate sleep and you will wake up feeling far from well rested.

Again, just wait, eat and relax. You'll be feeling like yourself again in the next week. That's how it went for me at least. You'll be okay in the end.
 
Are you sure it was MDMA? Did you test it? If so holy fuck thats alot of roll. I would be looking for xanax or other benzos. Theres not much you can do other than eat healthy and knock yourself out with heavy tranqueralizers. Maybe get some 5-htp and multi vitamins for your brain.
 
Don't ask my why, but I think this is a troll. No person on this earth would consume 5g of MDMA.....
 
I would have done this not even a year ago. And I basically did. Yes it was very irresponsible and very dumb but my point is it's not as far-fetched as you might think.

A lot of us probably dont want to admit being irresponsible, but we r only human and people make mistakes and sometimes have to learn the hard way....i know im one of them, even now, as I haven't learned my lesson.

Last year I would eat up an 8ball in a week with one friend, and he was mostly only eating on the weekend...i ate all week Monday to Sunday... On and off for pretty much the whole year...

Now I try to take a little bit more mature approach to situation, and try to never consume more than 5 points per day (based on .5 split throughout the whole day)... Sometimes starting as early as 1130am and going on until 1130-1200 pm at night. And I try not to pop my last point or two any later than 5-6 ish so so that it wears off and i still get decent sleep
 
But I do understand that with really pure M, I shouldn't need more than a point or two, and so I try to stay within those limits, either giving one dose for the whole day, or two doses if im more into it on a particular night.
 
5 grams is a lot to eat up for any one person on a weekend though.... That's about 1.7 grams per day, or about 8-10 strong doses/ day if it's good M...
I do admit last year I probably ate a bunch of.methylone also seeing it is such a popular substitute for mdma...and you know if it takes more than 2-4 points to get you wrecked than its probably not pure m, and thus you should be more careful of your intake and what u are ingesting. Rather than take more to feel higher, consider that maybe you aren't getting high enough because the molly you have could be adulterated, and unsafe to consume more than u need to be in the first place
 
When i consumed 900 mg over 2 nights i had bad insomnia, in fact the night after my second dose. i couldn't sleep a tall just kept getting brain zapped the following few days i had fucking awful sleep too. \my best advice is 5-htp you can get it at holland and barret. and 5 grams mate what were you thinking :S the reason you cant sleep is you simply have no serotonin to regulate it.
