Mass Shooting and Gun Control Megathread

I’m pretty confident if some untrained numbskull breaks into my house with an AK, and given I have the chance to arm myself, it’s gonna be a bad day for them
Makes me think about that person in the Indiana Mall shooting two weeks ago that hit the target something like 8 out of 10 times from ~30 yards or so

Maybe, adrenaline is a factor for sure, but that’s why you train ;) muscle memory, I don’t even need to look down my sights to hit you at those distances
It’s not adrenaline.

It’s everything else that will go wrong. Blood pressure, heart rate, your anxiety.

Literally everything would have to be ideal, including your willingness to drop the POS dead where he stands.

And the funniest part about it is most the people that break into houses or go to shoot up a place understand before hand they are willing forfeiting their right to live and rolling the dice anyway, it’s the people miles away not being the persons victim that talk about understanding and being tolerant, it’s a fucking joke if you really think about it

Smart people make sure you can’t see them.

Organized people make it so you don’t remember it.

Funded people milk you for decades and then blame you for their actions

The common factor? PEOPLE. Mainly the “We the People” trash. Always the collective determining whom gets to live and who gets their lives trashed, for whatever bullshit feelings. Everyone forgets individual right’s when they can strip someone else of theirs.

Go get a damn gun and use it if you want to fuck with me some more

Story time, a friend of my moms friends daughter broke up with her boyfriend, he went psycho everyone told her to get a gun cause the guy had multiple guns and was unhinged stalking ect. Cops did nothing, last week he broke into her house killed her and her roommate then killed himself, if she had a gun she might be alive today and he would still be dead, but wait we should wait and see how it plays out right ? Because he’s a special individual with rights, fuck outa here

^ i'm not clear. are you suggesting that he should not have been able to get a gun?

that is a tragic story. if she had a gun there is a chance that she'd still be alive. but it's not certain.

Yes in a situation like that the police should have at least put some kind of hold on his weapons or just confiscated them outright, but even if they did that he could still have broke in with a knife and would play out the same…. I’m just saying I don’t understand this whole let’s think about the person putting us in harms way rights…it makes zero sense to me, but I guess I’m an American through and through

the suck thing is that, until he's committed a crime, the police likely won't act.

the same amendment that allows you to own a gun allows him to own a gun.

Right and that’s where there could definitely be some improvements to the laws, his guns should have been taken as soon as he was reported for stalking and threats, atleast a temp hold for him to cool down

Why? They didn’t do that when I was targeted for canceling

But then someone could falsely accuse another to get the guns removed, rendering them vulnerable to a plot.

It's got to be thorough psychological/record vetting before gun purchase, and then a yearly evaluation to renew your license. It makes no sense to have loopholes that allow for removal of weapons by the state on vague assertions by another person.

If it were tough enough it would dissuade the average chump and those not responsible enough, and retain those with the discipline (and mental balance). If someone fails their re-evaluation, or doesn't show up, then the state can remove their weapons.

Well there would obviously have to be some proof, in this day is shouldn’t be to hard for a victim to record something or have a text log ect…so let’s just say in legit situations where someone is acting nutty and there is proof of that but still haven’t committed a crime, they confiscate the guns
