Mass Shooting and Gun Control Megathread

I was gonna guess Redditor or giga boomer. The later bc corporate media is sort of king with them.
I don’t watch or read any corporate media. I listen to and read NPR sometimes. I don’t know what a giga boomer is, some tech savvy baby boomer aged person?

I don’t know how it’s hard to believe people felt the January 6th riot wasn’t something to be taken lightly. You seem so sure of your convictions but I don’t know where you get your facts from.

My own two eyes and paying close attention. I listened to npr for years, but when they had a Russia update on the hour For like a year, I gave it up. Their bias is mainly via omission. Which is respectable to a degree, but they got propaganda heavy, especially with the cultural revolution stuff.

I’ll admit NPR has skewed a little. But I still find them the best source of news, even if their reporting style annoys me sometimes.

I didn’t think that the occurrences on Jan 6th would have led to a real coup. As others have said the people weren’t really armed. But the idea of anyone trying to forcibly emplace a leader even if it’s just a hopped up crowd of middle aged people is still daunting to me.

I haven’t watched the hearings. I trust there’s significant evidence that Trump wanted the riots to somehow workout for him. He’s a dipshit, narcissistic asshat with no credentials as a friend of the people, and somehow people don’t see it. The cult behind him is what really worries me. I would fight against a Trump cult uprising. I’m enjoying watching Pence turn on him so hard this year.

So no I don’t think that the Jan 6th riots could have succeeded. The crowd wasn’t that big. But let’s say, Trump had tried to stay in office and the military for some reason gave up its oath to the constitution, then yeah I’d do what I could to help stop him. I have confidence in our military vs our elected leaders so that’s one big if.

Sometimes it takes someone as belligerent as trump to show just how rotten things are. The role could have been filled by literally anyone with fuck you money and a view that runs contrary to the global banking establishments goals. I’ll admit I enjoy seeing him wave a middle finger at them, but definitely annoyed by many of the finer details.

I’ve heard a lot of people say they don’t hate trump because at least he shook things up. I understand that line of thought, but honestly he just seemed to be the primary catalyst for the resurgence of the culture wars. And it was sickening to witness.

But I digress, this is off topic.

I was reading today that the Uvalde shooter kid shot up the same classroom he attended as a child. As more facts come out the shooting seems more and more premeditated and there seems to be plenty of times he could have been stopped from committing the atrocity he did. I don’t understand why we look at inanimate objects and say, “Evil!” But we don’t look at some kid with a nickname of “school shooter” until he literally kills a bunch of kids. It’s such a damned topsy turvy world.

Occupy wallstreet was the single biggest catalyst for the ‘culture wars‘. Those same things would have happened regardless of who stood up to them, they control all the things that make you think of the culture wars 🤔

Definitely. But if a region has been blasted by drought and is ready to go up in flames, and someone comes along, throws gasoline on it, and lights a match, you don't throw up your hands and go "eh, something would have caused this to burn"

I mean he did nothing extreme, I’d argue he bordered on being controlled opposition. But I get how people see things through the lens of their own world. The Tv and everything you have ever trusted barking orders at you is hard to ignore. True enlightenment is judging things purely on ones actions.

The economy was great and the government was more liberty based In their approach. Only major Thing happening was the banks had a person that wasn’t totally down with their plans so they put a ton of money into media, professional activism, influencers, legal workers, etc.. I do enjoy seeing a lot of the stuff they funded go under. Buzzfeed and blm being some of my faves

No I'm not. I'm saying guns aren't the problem or there would have been tons of mass shootings when we could legally buy machine guns. I think the problem is some sort of social contagion/s

I still think the absolute root of the problem in its very essence is people arnt suppose to live the way we do in this current age, maybe we’re in a transitioning/getting use to stage, but we should be out hunting gathering building shelter ect. Now we just get up go to work watch tv buy prepared food rinse and repeat…I wonder if you go to a tribe that’s been living off the land the same way for thousands of years and ask if anybody is depressed they would prolly look at you like you have 3 heads, depressed ? We have shit to do….I’m sure they have their handful of legitimately mentally I’ll people but nothing like the epidemic we see in modern civilizations
