I am sorry to stick my oar in but I have held my tongue with respect to Chicago until now and its these talking points, such as the one above, that need addressing. Chicago is having and has had real serious problems but the fact of the matter is that a certain ilk always brings up the crime in this city as a 'whataboutism' during discussions around mass violence and there is only one reason for this dog whistle.
Chicago is not the most violent city on the US, in fact it is not even close and has not been for sometime. It is not even in the top ten in any recent polls and while more violent than many places it still only ranks
28th on this list by ABC from February...
I hope I have made my point, despite being nothing more than an international observer with a vested interest in the survival of the republic....
