the cap wasnt on my marquis correctly and i got some on my hands, i wiped it off with a tissue and washed my hands with soap and water as soon as i could. anything i need to worry about or precautions i gotta take? i dont appear to have any burns and my skin looks the same as it did before so i think im good...has this happened to anyone else before?

It seems like you took care of it. Just thoroughly rinse off your hands immediately if it happens again.

@snafu: yea i think im good...i googled "marquis reagent on skin" and that kinda freaked me out haha but then i thought back to every other time that ive tested with this kit and i pretty much always get it on my hands but never really thought anything of it before. if theres no obvious physical damage i should be good right? as long as its not gonna seep through my skin and poison me then im not gonna worry about it

@crobar: funny thing is i dont ride lol just thought of the first rhyming phrase that came to my head when i made my username lollll

unless you get allot of it on your skin you should be fine, i got a tiny drop on my finger once and that shit started stinging but i washed it off in time and had no problems since, just make sure you don't get any of it on your cloths lol that thing will burn holes in fabrics before you have time to wash it off.... R.I.P favorite pair of jeans :"(

I stupidly put some in a gel cap and then put that in my pocket. Something was itching my leg a bit and was getting hot. After about an hour I looked and it had burned through my jeans pocket, boxer shorts and onto my leg. I have been left with a small marquis scar.

Marquis reagent is essentially sulfuric acid and formaldehyde... sulfuric acid burns through just about everything cept glass and plastic...

Acid burns would be the biggest concern... wash it off immediately with running water for several minutes... if your not burnt then your good to go :)

lol a gel cap? Damn man you were asking for it, try getting a small glass vial like for coke or something lol, just put it in that and you have yourself the portability of an E-Z test with the easiness of Dancesafe

Im actually suprised the gelcap didnt disintegrate on contact..

A bottle of marquis is pretty small... just take the bottle next time... youll have much les risk of spillage seeing as its in a container designed to contain it and you wont inadvertantly contaminate the reagent which is also easy to do.

If you absolutely feel the need to have an intermediate container to take to events, i suggest findin a chem supply retailer and locating a small bottle designed to hold acids... preferably with a dropper...

Folleys suggestion of a cocaine vial is certainly reasonable, but is still gonna be hard to "pour out" single drops without making a mess, and is probably more expensive than a small acid vial which can be had for a buck or two (probly less online)...

If you decide to go with a coke vial (maybe you already have one), grab a few paper towels and take those too so you can wipe the bottle off after use... you will have to toss the towels as youll notice the reagent burns holes in them on contact, but at least the bottle wont have acid on it when you stick it back in your pocket ;)
