it took me a bit to decide whether I should post this in here or OD so if I'm wrong go ahead and move it.

I just got two 10mg marinols given to me to try out and I have some questions.

anyone have experience with it? how does it compare to smoked cannabis?

I recently started smoking again and a normal size joint of some plain old reggos split between me and my girl gets us both pretty high. how strong will a 10mg marinol be for me?

I'm kinda excited cause I read that Marinol can be more trippy than weed because other cannibinoids in weed regulate the triply effects of pure thc. (read it on wiki I think)

I searched and nothing really came up so I apologize if I missed something. Anyway, comments/suggestions anyone?

oh also, isn't 10mg of thc not very much? Is the synthetic thc in these more potent than natural thc or what?

im prescribed marinol, and have my mmj recommendation.

i only fill it if im very desperate. so maybe im just hoping for releaf, but it is pretty disappointing. honestly, that's an understatement, i pay[No Prices - Chainer] per 5mg for a serious rampant autoimmune disorder, and it seems 30mg would stay to manage some symptoms, for a few hours.

my state recognizes medical marijuana to be at least 15% thc, at [No Prices - Chainer] per gram... people pay different prices, but thats the standard view from the local medical community. the math makes it sound close, but there is no comparison.
a silly pot-cookie for the price of a cheap six pack can cool more inflammation then 2grams of ibuprofen, bring hunger, and the ability to keep food down for someone who hasnt eaten in three or five days.

i could never depend on marinol alone to aid with any of my health issues, it is an insult really, best for using to potenate that last joint...

My maths doesn't make it sound close. If MMJ is $[No Prices - Chainer]. That makes the real deal over 4 times as cost effective as the pharmaceutical equivalent.

THC is THC, it's the same molecule regardless of whether it came from a plant or a lab. Synthetic and natural are identical, in terms of potency as well as in every other way.

I have no experience with Marinol, but the consensus is that it's not great, that the other cannabinoids present in cannabis really do add something to the high. Prepare to be underwhelmed (although I guess you can't do that, it's like expecting the unexpected...).

insurance will only cover it for people receiving chemo, the doses they would have to receive in the hospital, and in after care would be massive. the patient gets some rest, and the manufacturers i guess sleep in the bed the insurance companies made for them.

i guess the price and tiney doses keep it off the street also.

weird. I got it from someone who has some health problems but definatly not chemo or anything that serious. I guess they said something had changed with their insurance and they could get it now. so I guess if anyone is interested in receiving it might wanna keep checking with their insurance but from what I'm hearing mmj is probably the best way to go...

so my 10mg pill would be like smoking a gram of 1% thc? that sucks. I'm pretty sure my reggos at least have that beat by a little.

If anyone's interested I think I'm gonna give it a shot this morning and ill Let you know how it went with my tolerance.

sorry,
i wanted to give a deeper sense of the products actual medicinal value in comparison to each other. as i said everyone pays different prices for different reasons, but to the pharmaceutical companies, and state it is a product held to a standard.

to the patient, these standards are vital, and differ greatly.


it seemed different then mentioning what i paid for my last bag at the time.

I took one of the 10mg ones this afternoon. I felt it more than I thought I would after doing the math but it was still very mellow. it seemed "cleaner" as well probably because of the lack of other canibinoids.

the weird thing is that when I took it I was slightly dope sick as I hadn't yet copped my shit for today. it actually felt like it made my dope sickness worse as apposed to making me feel much better as it does when I smoke.

I love the bullshit the dea puts on their website about marinol already being "medical marijuana" when it doesn't contain even half the shit that makes the real thing medicinally usefully.

anyway for my purposes or someone looking to get stoned I'd probably have to take about 10 of them.

I took four 5 mlg once and was bombed but I wish i had them now for actual use I have multiple sclerosis and scar tissue in the joint connecting to my brain and they throw all these other drugs at me like dilaudid, OC, fentanyl patches, and then cut me cold turkey so I went to a rehab center and I was call a substance abuser, not physical dependency from my meds, so they put me on suboxone then subutex which didn't help the pain I have just helped with withdrawals, I am in constant pain everyday and take 11 different meds a day...I also have epilepsy if I was perscribed marinol It would eliminate seven of the meds I take making it so I only had to take three meds a day not a bunch...but I don't even know how to ask

^Why do you need a prescription for Marinol? The consensus is that it's less effective than marijuana anyway, just smoke marijuana. If what you're asking for is advice on how to get prescribed a controlled substance then sorry, we can't help you.
