Man I miss the old days. Like the anti christ superstar, mechanical animals, holy wood era. His stuff nowadays are kind of getting lazy. Like this song for instance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY5zcKeJ4bU

I think I liked him better when he hated the world and the media. I can see anger and disappointment in people influenced him to make such memorable music.

Golden Age of Grotesque was my favourite album. I'll agree that their newer music isn't fantastic, but I saw their show last year and they're still amazing live.

im not in love but im gonna fuck you till somebody better comes along.

Mechanical Animals has to be my favorite album, then Anti Christ Superstar. I agree they've been sounding a bit lazy on their last two albums. Does anyone know if it's true that John 5 is coming back and Twiggy will return to bass? I hope so, that should bring back some of the old stly and sounds.=D

i loved Golden Age of Grotesque but i think i still like "smells like children" the best

Twiggy already came back for the new album from what I heard and saw. Don't know about John 5 though.

I definitely agree, Mechanical Animals was the shiiiiiiit. Its the most human yet alienistic form of himself. Especially the whole storyline was amazing how he used so much symbolism and references to being an alien and living on Earth. Taking drugs, fame, and fortune and losing himself in the superficial world of Hollywood.

I was into him during spooky kids and Portrait Of An American Family era, lost interest after antichrist though. After I go back and listen now I don't really see what was so great but time does that.

Smells like children and anti christ super star are my faves. I saw him when he went on tour for mechanical animals, that was a crazy show. Although I don't really listen to him anymore, on occasion i will break out the Smells like children album on my ipod.

Antichrist Superstar is by far my favorite album. Next wood be Holywood. I wasn't a huge fan of Smells Like Children. It had some ok songs, though I think Sweet Dreams is way overrated. But half of the album is just weird random shit, like the track that sounds like a phone conversation between a woman and her elderly mother talking about procardia. The track called "White Trash Getting Down on Your Knees" is great.
And Mechanical Animals is decent.

But the concert Manson and co put on is absolutely amazing. I've seen them twice and both times they were sick. In 1997 when I saw them in Dayton there were a bunch of christian nutcases whp actually bought tickets in the nosebleed sections to protest the show. Marilyn Manson burned pages out of a bible to show them up.
Heavy Metal at its finest :)

^that song is called Cake and Sodomy

Mechanical Animals IMO is his best work, then AntiChrist.. Holywood has its moments

My fave is Antichrist Superstar, by far, followed by Mechanical Animals and then Portrait of an American Family. Golden Age of Grotesque and Holywood are both great. Never cared much for Smells like Children. And the last couple of albums have been very blah. That said, I'd kill to see them live 0.0

I liked Antichrist back in the day ... but only when I got a bit older / drug-experienced did I recognize the pure genius of Mechanical Animals.
Still one of my top 10-20 favorite albums of all time. So inspired and perfectly assembled.
I can't listen to anything after Holywood, its nowhere near the same level/sound.
Golden Age was a gigantic disappointment to me, all the moreso because I'm a Tim Skold fan.

Thats sick that some of you guys got to see him in the glory days. I've only recently become a fan in the last couple of years, but I agree with you that his last few albums are weak.

Mechanical Animals is the shit and Anitchrist Superstar is pretty sweet too. For some reason I can't get into Holywood. A few songs from Golden Age are really awesome like (S)aint, slutgarden, and Use your fist and not your mouth.

I saw him last year at the Mayhem festival and it was epic just watching him perform, but he just wasn't into it like he used to be. Probably all the absinthe and cocaine. I mean rock and fuckin roll, but you still gotta put on a good show for the fans.

plus since it was a festival, he only played for like an hour. I'd love to see him in a club play for like 2 and half hours!

Yeah i first saw him at oz fest '99 and a couple more times at some of the following oz fests, it was fucking epic as well but short. I saw him last year at the grove (a small venue) in Anaheim, CA. It was THE BEST show i've seen him play. I would definitely recommend seeing him perform on a smaller stage. It may be a bit expensive but worth it, hands down.

MECHANICAL ANIMALS FUCKING ROCKS!!!

I have all Manson's albums up until Golden Age, and LOVE them all. He was my hero and idol when I was a teenager. I'd say my fave Manson album is either Antichrist Superstar or Holy Wood.
