Marijuana withdrawal & nightmares?

I also have this weird and vivid dreams a couple of days after the last time I've smoked. I think it's a pretty common thing and you'll get over it with the time.

Has anyone out there ever tried legal smoke called kapow. Got it at the weekend and thought it was a bit strong. Usually just smoke the illegal stuff myself and had been off it for a couple of weeks which is prob why the other stuff hit me a bit hard.

i've tried it yeah pretty good for a legal blend and like you had been smoking MJ for a bit and not had any so gave this a whirl great aroma too .

every time I smoke, i have the most intense-vivid dreams the following nights. i once had a dream that i was dreaming in a dream that i was dreaming in a dream. When i finally woke up - i didnt know if it was real or not; I just sat on my bed paranoid and confused. :( Dreams just come with a part of not smoking i think...
THANK GOD!! I thought i was the only one. I have some pretty messed up dreams to if i dont smoke for a few days. Sometimes its so bad everytime i close my eyes i jerk back awake scared as hell but cant remember wat the dream was. This last all night. So your not alone dude.

1 gram of pure THC? elaborate, please

You know THC... I used to have alot of dope go thru my hands, and i saved all the shake. I then used filters to shake down the thc from the leaves etc eventually i had a couple of ounces of thc powder, i made honey oil out of it and smoked a whack of it... good stuff mang

I'm going to disagree with findings indicating that MJ doesn't have physical w/d symptoms. I can say that my body, after being exposed to large amounts of THC several times/day for 10+ years does not respond kindly to THC deprivation.

In fact, the mental cravings disappear more quickly than the physical symptoms. The physical includes mild GI discomfort/nausea, hot/cold body sensations, shivers, tremors, and goosebumps, heavier than normal perspiration, mild dizziness, and vividly violent dreams.

Perhaps not everyone experiences these symptoms but I do. I can attribute these w/ confidence to THC deprivation since they only appear 1-2 days after abstaining from THC and disappear rapidly when THC is reintroduced to the body.

This thread has been incredibly informative about potential withdrawal symptoms of taking breaks after extended use. I am currently on day 5 of my break after 3 years of regular use. I have been forced to take breaks before when on vacation but being surrounded by family and constantly occupied helped during those time. Sleeping was terribly difficult without an antihistamine and still is this week.

Coming home every day to the context in which I did all of my smoking (living room couch) has been much harder on me this go around. I'm planning on taking one month off. I've been experiencing cold sweats, lack of appetite, difficulty sleeping, lack of sexual drive, vivid dreaming, and waves of some of the worst depression I've felt in quite some time. I would smoke every night as a way to calm myself after the daily stress that is associated with my work. After a really therapeutic mushroom session with the love of my life, we both decided it was time to detox for a while. Its been harder psychologically than anything so far. I hope it subsides soon because I don't like how I'm feeling at all.

I know this thread is quite dated but add another one to the category of marijuana withdrawal symptoms.

i've been there. it shouldn't be that intense though. i've been a daily smoker for way longer than three years (i've 26 and i've smoked almost every day since I was 19) and i've experienced what you're experiencing.....but it's really only the worst when I WANT to smoke, and I'm denying myself it.

people take all sorts of fucked up shit to help sort out their stress & psychological issues. is weed really so bad? a detox from all drugs is great, but putting yourself thru a lot of pain and stress over not smoking pot is probably worse than just smoking a bit at night to help you relax.

trust me, i do understand where you're coming from--i decided to quit all drugs after a serious acid trip once. i really, really felt I needed to detox. i threw away a full bag of pot, dumped out my prescribed psych meds (really!), and didn't touch any drugs for about.....4 days. after that, i was pissed I threw away that bag and ended up buying weed. i don't regret it though.

don't put yourself through hell just to give up smoking weed, especially for an entire month. it just seems pointless to me--everything you described seems worse for your mind & body than getting high.

^I understand your perspective especially given how I'm responding at the moment. I guess one of the major reasons I want to take a significant time off is because I oftentimes get a major sense of guilt that I may be masking my own psychological problems with weed instead of tackling it head on. This forum has made me realize that this thought process is not uncommon among smokers. There are some major life events coming my direction in the next few months and I really would like to clear my mind and gain as much perspective as possible. Addiction runs deep in one side of my family and I would be lying if I didn't fear that I may be heading down that path. I've never taken a break that was not forced and its time to at least see that I have enough control over myself to do just that.

Well my bit on the subject. 1st, learning how to lucid dream will stop nightmares completely. Being in control while you're asleep gives you access to the DMT deposit, and if you wan't you can get real high in a dream by eating some magical fruit or whatever you wish. I'm 2 days into my weed strike and hate waking up in the morning cause i wan't to stay asleep. Eating food helps produce DMT and some hot milk does wonders. And i'm a skeptic when it comes to legal highes, but it works. YOUTUBE "lucid dreaming and OBE" Theres some great info to help. As for addiction, i found weed to have no physical withdrawal symptoms. Just mental. One question here is, are people using tobacco with there weed and don't smoke otherwise?? Because all the post above that claim physical withdrawal, describes nicotine withdrawal perfectly. Like anger etc. Yes, i'm hanging out for weed, but i'm happy cause i know when i get it i'll get very stoned again. Now i would rate nicotine and heroin on a par. I know they are different symtoms, but on a total discomfort scale, i'd rate them even. Good luck, but it's really not that hard. It's in your head....I beleive anyway. But everyones different...

smoking weed every day does fuck you up. ive known loads of people who because they always smoke late in the evening think that without it they cant sleep, but it just about changing routine like soft lighting, relaxing before bed, reading etc. the dreams will pass as will your cravings. note that if you smoked weed with tobacco then you are getting nicotine with drawal symptons also. i only smoke once a week now, maybe fri or sat nite 2 spliffs, 3 tops in 4 hours. im 42 now i did all my crazy shit in my 20`s. didnt touch a drug till i was 22. lol

I've decided for personal reasons to take a hiatus from smoking weed. I was never a heavy smoker to start with - usually just a pinch a day, just 3-4 hits off the pipe at most. Since I've stopped, though, about 3 days ago, I've noticed that every night, I have had an awful time sleeping, and that my rest has been just OVERWHELMED with a slew of maddening dreams... not necessarily all nightmares, but none of the dreams exactly comforting or beautiful. Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do?

you just wait and it will go eventually go away. i wouldn't imagine these "withdrawals" sticking around too long. they're much more comfortable to deal with compared to other drugs, speaking of which, have you been on any other drugs than weed?

All in all, i'm a very heavy weed smoker, and i'm free for 4 days now. I still need to hit the bong with tobacco to keep those nasty nicotine withdrawals away. And smoking weed every day might fuck "you" up, but not me. It's better than benzos and all the other shit docs will give you. When you smoke as much as i do, all the shit effect go like memory loss and poor motor skills. Unfortunately so do the wanted effects but not as bad. I don't mean to be a dick, but this reminds me of half-baked. "Have you ever sucked a dick for weed man???" "you in here for weed man...." It's not a problem. Each day gets easier. At least you're not sweating and shivering etc etc etc.

how can you withdraw from something that is not physically addicting?...that shit is all mental

^because withdrawal dosn't mean cold turkey. It means stoping somthing, removing somthing from somwhere. He's going through withdrawal, but not showing the symptoms of withdrawal "compared" to H, oc etc etc. So if you compare it to H, there is little to no withdrawal. But this is not a comparison. So some get distressed with out it, and that leads to stress, and of course physical damage to the brain from stress hormones. If someone needs source as to damage from stress i'll post em. But i think it's common knowledge around bluelight. But saying thati agree with ^ statement, cause all that aside, thhings can be much worse. I'd say that one who worries so much about somthing so small, has not suffered enough to appreciate the state of lesser suffering. Peace brothers.

didnt read other replies but maybe you just gotta take it slow, you know? like smoke less and less every day, then go a day without, then a tiny bit next day and keep going like that. also maybe you gotta find another d.o.c. like idk pop a benzo before bedtime and see how that goes

I find it depends on how tired I am. Sometimes I know I have really weird and vivid dreams after smoking but I can't remember them most of the time.....which is probably a good thing.

Please don't follow that advice. I'd sujest reading the other posts prior to posting. If you think weed w/ds are bad, try benzo w/ds. I didn't find it hard geting off of xanax, until i woke up from a huge siezure, In my car with my passanger shiting himself thinking i was dieing. I know xanax is the worst of benzo's, but all benzo's are very addictive. AND they're cheap and easy to get. So if you use weed to fall asleep and find it hard, you don't really know what hard is. I had bout 10 seizures all up from w/ds. Just use google and read other post's regarding benzo w/d. Some say it's worse than heroin. If you do use benzo's please do so carefully, as know one knows how they work. They just say "they are THOUGHT to work by........." Heroin IMO is safer and better. But i don't recommend using anything if weed is hard for you to abstain from. But do your research, because there is more than enough people posting crap to seem knowledgable. I'm not an expert, but i have done more than enough to learn the hard way. And i still learn every day. Peace. And do as you wish.
