Marijuana or Martinis?

my respected Colleagues,
as i sit here sipping my vodka martini (Absolute, dry, 3 olives, frozen glass) which complements the spliff quite nicely i must add,
i call upon you to remember, that the policies of legality/availability of access to mood / consciousness altering agents has always been formulated so as to maximise control and profits and minimise the risks of the vested interests, be they governmental, corporate, CIA, Illuminati...
rest safe in the fact that nothing has changed

my personal opinion: the gateway theory is a crock of shite. drugs do not lead you to try other drugs. while it may be true that most heroin users tried marijuana first, it is ridiculous to suggest that if we can stop people from ever trying mull then they won't be tempted by heroin. please!
they are blaming addiction on the drugs instead of looking at the real cause - people are not happy with their lives and they are looking (in the wrong place) for something to make themselves feel better.

there is definitely something behind the gateway theory. you can't use it to pin heavy drug use on, but you cant write it off entirely. in this case we need some input from some non bluelighters as we *are* the ones who have gone on to use harder drugs. we need some peeps who have stopped at just weed and alcohol.
think about it, the first "lesser" drugs you try (weed, alcohol) open up the doors for you to access harder drugs. your weed DD can often get you something harder, or introduce you to someone who can. therefore weed has opened a gateway to harder drugs, if you *choose* to look for them. thats how i got into acid, goey, pills.
so i dont think you can say, SUNNI, that drugs dont lead you to other drugs. for me, weed was enough, until the tolerance built up, then i searched for the next high, acid.

I choose neither...
i grew up with an alcholic
and i've seen a few people develop a mental illness through marajuana use..
so i've seen the ill effect of both drugs
the key: moderation
my drug of choice.....

Just a quick question for all you martini fans out there. Exactly how is one made? A shaken and not stirred vodka variety in particular. I've heard many different ways, I was just wondering if there was one be all and end all way. Thanks in advance.

you take your frozen vodka (top shelf only - Ketel 1, Absolute, etc), place it with some not-too-large ice cubes in a martini shaker and shake vigorously.
if you like it as dry as Winston Churchhill, you just bow in the direction of France.
otherwise, a tad of Vermouth to rinse the glass with, pour remainders out.
add vodka to said frozen glass. the vodka-ice shard mixture at this stage should be so cold as to appear almost cloudy.
garnish with:
me - 3 olives (w/pimentos inside even better)
others - who cares.
enjoy, and remember Sir Winston's words of wisdom: "1 martini is too much and 3 is never enough"
