Marijuana links with psychosis

^ very true about sample bias. If you are looking at people who present to hospital for psychosis or schizophrenia (which I am presuming they got their sample from - haven't actually read the original article), then you are just surveying one subset of cannibas users. Most people will never have a mental condition bad enough to warrent coming into contact with hospitals.

However, a small percentage will, and a percentage of these will be heavy cannibas users.

out of dozens of people I know who smoke weed heavily, I would say one developed a bad psychotic episode, or schizophrenia that was short lived and went into remission. As I said in previous posts its difficult to say if he would of developed it without smoking weed heavily everyday.

like I've said before most people can smoke all day every day and never develop schizophrenia. but people with strong risk factors such as a parent or sibling with schizophrenia should probably abstain or keep their use to occassionally.

There's been a lot of reports about smoking marijuana/mental illness.

What about risks compared smoked Hydro, Bush Bud, Hash or even Hash Oil?

Or it's all about the THC or what? Or the usage rates of cannabis increase the risk?

What about consuming Cannabis via Cookies/Cakes/Canna-Pesto?

Or using other illict/legal subsatnces combined with Cannabis?

It's a big grey subject.

^Unfortunately Marijuana is a grey area few are willing to touch and risk their reputation on and I fear this will be the case in Australia for a very long time...

On another topic what ever happened with that trial in Nimbin?

trial in nimbin was a joke... like truly... it was a hoax article....

this whole article stinks... where they got the results from... every single person in the survey had presented with problems, so therefore, as there was no control group of smoker without problems, the results are skewed..

so a few people do get a few probs from it... ok, they must, or they would not be there.to be surveyed.. but without a number of total users you cannot say that pot is harmful... as the number of people it effected may only be .05% of total users....etc etc

it is the type of announcement that the media love..... and so did my mother in law...
bee-atch.
