^ I don't see how, it costs a lot of money to put people in jail. What money are the making off it being illegal? The govornment would make much more money taxing marijuana like alcohol.

there are more important things than money to be gained via prohibition.
but on the subject of money. yes, it does cost a lot of money to put people in jail. it also costs a lot of money to build a jail. a lot of people need to be employed to build that jail, guard that jail, and provide meals for that jail. a lot of people are going to need a place to eat, sleep, and live whilst involved in one way or another with that jail. and finally, in order to maintain the industry created you're going to need a lot of 'criminals' to fill that jail and justify the construction of another.

I see you live in the USA. The USA is not a democracy, nor did it ever claim to be. The USA is a Representative Republic. There is a difference. The people do not make the laws; rather they are represented by elected officials voted in, in elections, who make the laws.

pot isn't really a good anxiety med as it can cause anxiety just as much as it can reduce it. many people smoke pot for years without getting any axiety and then all of the sudden one day they get it so all you folks who have never gotten it, don't think that you're immune, because it'll get you one day when you least expect it muhuhaha
i actually like the idea of new pharmaceutical cannabinoids.. i mean think if the medical community had never fooled with opium.. there wouldnt be this wide range of opiods available today.

and frizzantik: you might be right about it not being a good anxiety med but it is for me! and i had the little bit of anxiety when i first started smoking it, i do not get it now! at all! its just like any other pill or med the doc might give you, everyone does different w/ every antideppressent or whatever!
i have smoked since i was 15 years old, so i dont think i am immune to it or anything i just think it works for me...

A friend of mine quit smoking because of the anxiety.
Shortly before he quit he had a smoke whilst on a sailboat a mile or two from shore. There was no anxiety. As soon as they re entered the harbor the anxiety returned.
He said the vulnerability he felt was because of our draconian laws that took the pleasure out of smoking.
That definitely shows the anxiety is external.
Did you know that the captain will lose his boat if the Coast Guard or other law enforcement find marijuana on a guest or crew member?
By law they make you a policeman without pay.
