Texas makes a compelling argument. few points. As far as myth 11 goes, before this law was passed, smoking was outlawed on the beaches of San Diego. Smoking buds in public was regularly ignored by many but not all cops. I often wondered if they were sanctioned weather or not the penalty for smoking (I don't think the material was specified) would be more severe than the one for possession, if they bothered to impose one.
I thought pot was decriminalized a long time ago by being made a misdemeanor. As a minor, I had the missfortune of being caught with like a dime bag of pot in a small town outside of San Jose with a zealous PD. There were beers in the car, I was 16. My friends got poped for alcohol and I for the pot. Their ticket was higher than mine and they got formal probation and became wards of the court. I got informal probation and my PO made me pay $6 for a class were i ended up meating a few connections.
Actually sensible policy, etOH is way more harful to youth than MJ. As an adult I got caught with possession of less than an oz twice in San Jose. 1st time in 89'- the cops gave the pot back after sweating us alittle. The second time was in 90 or 91'. He gave me my pot back.
Alaska defacto legalized pot in 75' (year before the dutch) by court order. The feds cracked down but according to Coolio its still legal or decriminalized- he knows the particulars (even though their legislature or their initiated didn't pass).
Regulate, control, and especially tax should set off alarm bells in peoples' heads. (Think MJ tax act of 1937')- The government taxes things out of existance as a strategy of flexing there muscle when other avenues are closed to them.
Hope this is positive- hope prop 19 will be a bridge to full legalization in the USA. Will see.

put, the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Initiative does not reflect most people’s ideas of what legalization would be. The media often incorrectly reports that this initiative calls for “full legalization” of marijuana
