Marijuana (cooked in butter) - Experienced - Is this really only weed?!?

OK, so I just graduated from college and I must say that I've smoked a lot of weed in these past four years (pretty much every night). Having naturally gotten bored of it, I decided to take a week off from it so that I can enjoy the drug as I once did.

My friend called me asking to smoke, and suggested doing that and using some of the weed to make brownies. I've done them a few times before but he hasn't, and this was my first time preparing them the way we did. Before I had only had cookies/brownies.

T 0:00 smoked a joint with my buddy. Watched some Curb Your Enthusiasm

T 1:15 began to prepare the cannabutter.

Basically we used two separate pans for our weed and let some butter sit with the stove set to LOW-MED for a few minutes as we broke up our portions (slightly > 1 g each) and then tossed it into the butter, set the temp to MED and let it simmer for about five minutes. The butter pretty much turned black (I love the smell of weed cooking) and we tossed in more butter. We then let the butter cool for a couple of minutes while we toasted some bread. With a fork, we picked out the pieces of bud and ate them (interesting taste). Then we tried to soak up as much of the butter into the bread as possible. It took about five slices for me.

T 1:30 consumed our bread slices

Surprisingly, the butter tasted like normal butter on bread. We were so glad because it took basically no time to prepare and were very munchies-friendly.

T 1:35 rolled another joint and smoked it

We watched this documentary called 'Weed' about smoking culture, Amsterdam and the Cannabis Cup on HBO On Demand.

T 2:30 I was feeling something wonderful. The thought of being too high crossed my mind, but was quickly dismissed. I was heavily sedated and tripping hard. When I closed my eyes, I saw a milder version of what you would see on shrooms.

T 3:15 definitely tripping harder and giggling a lot! I was feeling the ultimate bliss and walking around was near impossible. Plus I was getting these intense tingling sensations in the forms of waves flowing down my body.

T 4:00 I know this guy I'm watching doing his stand-up routine on TV is not that funny, yet I can't stop laughing.

T 5:30 The thought of smoking again crossed our minds, but we realized that we only wanted it to smoke something rather than to feel any higher. This was really throwing me off because I am used to smoking every couple of hours and being able to control how high I felt through that. Yet every moment felt like I had just smoked ten minutes ago and it was really screwing with my head.

T 6:30 The time is about 10pm and we had just picked ourselves off from the floor by laughing too hard from 'Da Ali G Show' -- those who haven't seen it, smoke a doob and watch that show. It's hilarious!! And this time I know it wasn't from the weed. We decided to roll another joint and smoke it when the time seemed right.

T 7:00 10:30PM Decided to rip into that joint. Damn it felt good. Passed out about 45 minutes later, woke up around 10 in the morning feeling great and still a little high.

This was fun to read. Brought back a whole lot of memories for me. :)

There's just something about cooking/baking marijuana that seems to potentiate the effects to an incredible degree. My old roommates used to grow weed in an unused closet in the house we lived in at the time. Now I won't pretend to know what they did as I've never grown weed myself, but they were very high-tech about breeding it while using only the best seeds so this was some highly potent shit to begin with. Then every once in awhile they'd bake up some marijuana brownies. Oh my fuckin word, dude. I have never been so fucking high in my life. It was nothing like any marijuana high I'd ever known before or since, it was like this fuckin hardcore, heavy as in 'Holy shit, I'm too fucked up to get up off this couch' sort of high. Literally too stoned to move, much less talk or function in any other sort of way. I don't know that I could have gotten up even if I'd had to. It even got a little worrisome the first time or two, as I felt almost *too* stoned and surely wasn't ever expecting such 'trippy' aspects to come out of eating marijuana. I mean there were serious visuals- tracers, patterns, shiftings, the whole kit and caboodle. And the thing is these brownies were delicious. We'd eat 'em with a cup of tea and just get ripshit. %)

That was a lot of fun, back in the day. ;)

I've had similar expirances. Easting pot works awesome. I cant reccomed it enough... A whole day of increasing highness.

Without sounding too shifty, I want to see that HBO documentary!!

Otherwise, good stuff, it reminds me of my one and only experience with eating cannabis, when I ate a piece of this chocolate cake which had been recently baked, and I knew it was laced, but I wasn't aware of how strong it was until a few hours later when I was plastered the lounge unable to move or talk much aside "Erghbhhhh..."

I find cannabutter is usually more of a sedate body stone. I reckon if anyone really wants to trip out on hash consumption, get about a pound (kilo recommended) of the best 100% sativa trim u can find, something like a durban poison or haze etc. Anyway, make a hash oil with it using a solvent THEN mix it with butter (though not nescessary really). I found using this much hash oil in a single hash cake, cookie or brownie batch, a slice or 2-3 cookies would leave u feeling almost as if u were peakin on eccies, very body high, electric buzzing and tripping for about 4 days to a week straight. Hell if u gonna make a space cake, make sure it journeys ya for longer than 8 hours :P

Peace Out

Yeah, eating Cannabis is quite different than smoking it. It is normally much more hallucinogenic and more stoning in the body. Eating Cannabis is generally not a good idea if you have any responsibilities during the day. It can make you very lazy.

god damn it, i wish i could get high from eating cannabis. ive tried cooking it 4 times, followed instructions and did lots of research but never got high.

could you just not be using enough weed? i've made that mistake before, but i can say for sure that the time off (even tho only a week or so) really lowered my threshold. good luck, and don't give up so soon.. the feeling is unmatched

I find ppl who fuck up a cannacookie batch usually cook the weed too much, probably burning it and killing off the THC. Seen amateurs do this all too often.

:P

Peace out

I love to eat cannabis, haven't done it in a couple of months though. Might get around to it before the summer is over. It's something that would be brilliant on a warm summers day, just sitting chilling.
I've never ate weed though, always been hash by just burning the hash into a yougehert and then eat it, 1 hour later your wiped off your head.

Sounds like you had a good time, glad to hear it.

i've been smoking alot of weed this summer and really want to try cooking some and eating it but never got around to it (yet). smoking weed so much i dont get high as much anymore as you said.

deviate: Make cannabutter, and use the butter in your recipe.
You're probably destroying all the THC before you can even injest it.
The process of making cannabutter keeps all variables at around 212 Degrees F, a good temperature that will not burn the goods, but activate and dissolve them nicely.

Happy trails.

I ate a rice crispie treat at bonnaroo and I was so high all i could do was sit on my blanket and get sun burnt. But then I smoked about 4 or 5 bowls before eating it and then atleast 6 or 7 more after. It was the most entertained I have ever been doing nothing.

Sounds awesome....reminds me of the first time I ate hash, was pretty similar except I couldn't face the thought of smoking anything except cigs for at least a day!
