Marijuana and weight training?

What effect would infrequent marijuana smoking (once a week or so) have on muscle mass gains for weight training?

What about frequent smoking?

u maybe will get tired sooner, but if u lift weighs alot and eat alot u will b a beast
 
it helps me eat 3000kcal a day. good if ur an ectomorph. df dont smoke before u work out anytime int he day though. only at night
 
it won't affect your working out, but it will affect running.

I'd save it for after working out, sorta like a "treat".
 
In my opinion it depends on you the individual.

i havent seen marijuana have a negative effect on my weight training. dont work out when ur stoned, i tried it one time and it completely killed my high and my workout didnt seem as productive.

i smoke everyday and began working out maybe 7 or 8 months ago. i go 4 or 5 times a week and try to eat "right", and i have gained muscle mass and strength. my work out partner doesnt smoke and as far as lifting goes were are neck and neck.

what i do that might help u is to smoke at the end of ur day. as the other poster said you can definitley feel it in the muscles you worked out.

and remember to see good gains in mass, you need to eat more protein. especially after a workout, it helps ur muscles recover.

smoking weed doesnt do shit to me. Cigz hurt but weed naw it just helps me put on a little mass (im still skinny as fuck though). I normally gain both strength and endurance when i smoke and work out. I think its because i eat 10x healthier
 
I've put on some good muscle mass over the last 18 months from weights and I smoke most nights. One chick I was with once though told me that herb does effect your muscle growth... Does anyone with any medical knowledge agree with that?

BTW, havn't smoked cigs for 12 months and that has given me heaps more energy and positive vibes than anything else.
 
ive seen people who are daily smokers put on 8-10 kilos in little over a week as soon as they start gym. id do it myself but its just not my drug..
 
Weed doesn't affect muscle growth. I have no medical documentation as such to back this, but it rings true amongst the guys I train with. I smoke weed reguarly (sometimes before lifting) - but more so at night, at which time i eat 3 full size meals over the course of ~3 hours - this would not be possible without getting stoned beforehand as I simply can't handle that much food when i'm str8.

The increase in food intake translates to muscle growth if a relevant diet is adhered to and you hit the high calories
 
I hated the anxiety and arrythmia from smoking. Eating it in oil based preparations was much better for my physiognomy, and much more predictable over time mentally.
Still posted gains on the weight machines though.

It makes it a lot harder to remember how many reps you have done. This can be good or bad.... hehehe

The smoke isn't going to help you... but the pot won't effect your work out.
 
smokin before lifting helps me enter a supreme state of concentration...feelin every fiber of my muscles lifting the weight...but it's best as an apetite increaser...i like to smoke and order two large pizzas and just eat
 
Smoking kills my motivation so I try and avoid it as much as possible. I cant be bothered cooking healthily! Just keep the good food coming and no problem. And I would recomend more than 3000kcals I would be thinkin more 4000-5000...
