Marijuana and alcohol combination damaging or not really?

Ok so before i write away i want to inform you, this thread has to do with the concern of any sort of damage being done physically/mentally from the combination of mixing marijuana and alcohol. I am NOT asking about the DANGERS such as vomitting, a lot more intoxicated, etc etc.

Going to the bar a few times has become a routine for the past few months now, but even after the highest amount i drink (8 drinks in various forms, sometimes beers, straight shots, mixed drinks), or the typical 6 drinks i never black out and function just fine even if i go to work like that. I do get more vocal and not as shy to express certain things (good effect for someone with anxiety), and i am able to smoke multiple bowls of whatever (kush, reggie, k, hydro) and still not be out of my senses/blacked out or vomitting.

I'm only 21 5'5 140 male, but the only other time i was smoking pot frequently (just started daily again a month ago) and drinking was a few years ago till i kinda lost my interest with alcohol and weed and into trying other drugs. But every time people wouldn't be able to believe that i could even drink 6 beers or 6 shots (like now) all easily in 30 minutes, and still be able to carry an intelligent conversation, walk normal, no slurring or drunk type behavior. Just more social and happy depending on the setting. And then all the weed i can smoke afterwards and still be highly functional seemed to amaze the others around me or who would be a lot more fucked up than i would be and weren't as functional.

My experience of the combination is that it's real fun and euphoric. (The euphoric part depends on how good the weed is too). And if not by myself or at home, it makes me real stimulated and a unique body high with the combo of the weed + the alcohol, and also feeling confident while being high. It also makes me real social and get into deep conversations and just feel more free (but a little more serious than those occassional wild/hyper feelings from just drinking alone). Although i never have experienced any negative physical/mental symptoms from mixing the two since i only do it twice a week when i drink, but lately smoking weed i've been doing daily but only mixed with alcohol twice a week.

If anything i feel the two perfectly balance eachother out, although i've realized many cannot handle it without appearing/or being too intoxicated (messed up). It never makes me throw up, or feel more sick if anything it reduces any discomfort caused by the amount of drinks consumed so quickly. (slight headache, slight muscle weakness, very slight depression). But i was wondering if they cause any damage to the brain from mixing the two preferably real facts instead of opinions.

So with the fact it doesn't make me have many other negative effects (overly intoxicated, blacked out, vomitting) that other people do with this combination, is it something real bad for the brain or nothing of any major concern......

(Off topic today i had 6 beers some weed, and then two 20mg ir adderall that i'm prescribed but hardly take, and then gonna start smoking more once adderall high is over). But i usually never mix the adderall with alcohol but do for weed comedowns, but its the second time i decided to take them while tipsy (slightly different high but no less or more euphoric than by itself).

The alcohol is the biggest factor in damage to your body as far as substance abuse goes. Try to limit the alcohol less, but the marijuana doesn't do as much damage by fat. Ethanol is by far worse.

Marijuana increases the likelihood of getting nauseous and vomiting from alcohol but other than that, if anything, marijuana would actually be a safe adjunct. It tends to decrease the amount that you drink, encourage you to eat food, promote sleep, all things that go towards reducing alcohol's toxicity.

As far as HR goes, once you're not drinking every day at high quantities you're fine. Marijuana + Alcohol is a great combo but relatively harmless unless you're drinking an entire bottle of you're desired liquor at once. Marijuana will just affect your brain in the way that it usually does lol. But you sound fine.

I don't think that doing this maybe once a week wouldn't be a horrible thing, but keep an eye on yourself because it could easily turn into habit, and become a more regular thing than necessary. Alcohol does destroy brain cells, and ruin your liver. Marijuana doesn't bother much but your lungs. And your adderall prescribed isn't that bad either. The thing you need to watch for is combining them all together. They increase your blood pressure quite a bit. And if you're doing it several times a week, you could go from completely healthy to a rise in blood pressure and your kidneys could be struggling. Every body is different though. Some people aren't effected by it and others can be. Depending on how much you exercise, how healthy you eat, and water you drink, smoke cigs or not? And some people could be effected by just how their body is. Regardless of what anyone says though, it is taking time off of your life. Anytime anyone does anything like that hard on the body, even if it's just drinking or smoking tobacco..it's wear on your body and takes some time off of it.

you can experience nausea or vomiting or they can react with panic, anxiety or paranoia. Mixing marijuana with alcohol can increase the risk of vulnerable people experiencing psychotic symptoms.

naah, it's not really damaging at all. It just enhances the effects of the other drug and vice versa. The only risk at that point would be to get behind the wheel of a car or otherwise u'll probably will end up vomiting somewhere and falling out.. THC doesn't act CNS depressing and alchohol does.. so the alchohol and the amount you booze is the only factor that could be a potential risk..(only if your blood-alchohol ratio is fatal)

Thanks for the replies guys:

For me personally it doesn't make me vomit or more nauseous (it actually cures it or prevents it) it also is more euphoric only when dranken alcohol first and then smoke.

Also it take away some of extra confidence boost that i can get from alcohol, so it kinda makes me more mellow instead of as much of a hyper fun social tipsy person. But i'm still real talkative when i mix the two when in a fun social situation otherwise if i'm just home i'll usually just go to sleep. Also even with little tolerance to both i can still function on high doses of marijuana, or alcohol, or both combined and it goes unnoticed to others unless i want to make it noticable. But that's something i've had to train myself to be able to do, to conquer the paranoia, the dreamy feeling etc. (although i don't recommended going to work intoxicated in anyway)

The reason i ever posted this thread because i read it is a lot more damaging on the brain when you smoke marijuana at the same time with alcohol, it was in a couple of articles can't remember where. But haven't noticed much difference from recreationally combining the two in any NEGATIVE way so i guess its alright..

We used to call the heavy vomiting combining weed and booze the "greenies". Not sure if thats a common term or not. The most sick I have ever felt on a regular basis was coming these two. Omg its the worst.

It's smoking and drinking.

You lungs, liver, kidneys and pancreas are all bearing a blow...

I'm shocked nobody mentions these things.

Isn't it pretty obvious that all things that u get into your system by smoking is harmfull for your lungs? And only a complete fool doesn't know alchohol only causes damage to your previous mentioned organs on long term use. Never heard of instant kindey failure in a normal healthy person from being drunk.

Suggesting u do some more research on that because some recent studies have proven that booze (In occasional use ) doesn't kill any brain cells at all. In addiction it may cause brain damage due to the chronic fluid shortage in the brain though.

Cheers

right? also, i don't mean to be rude but you seem like you have anaddictive personality. although marijuana and alchol are not necessarily "gateway" drugs, you mentioned past experimentation with substances, and you drink to get FUCKED up. it may seem irrelevant, but i feel it should be mentioned in the spirit of harm reduction. so, what you're doing now may not be SO BAD... but it's a nasty road my friend.

and yeah, don't drive.
