💥 Contest 💥 March Madness 2024

Oh you mean just making the tournament

yeah they have a shot of that since they play in one of the most overrated conferences

Anybody could win the big 10 tournament if Zach Edey stubs his toe before the game

I don't know wtf is going on. I'll read what the structure of March Madness is later then decide. What day do I have to do something by?

You just pick the team you think will win. The first round there are 64 teams = 32 games. Next round 16 games, and so on.

You are a stats guy, try looking up all the stats on seeding. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14 , etc. Then look up which seeds have historically made it to the final four.

The smart way to go about it is to pick your final four first then build your bracket based on that. Do your research , look at teams who consistently underperform.

Also remember you get escalating points as the rounds progress. In other words, don't take a chance on a high seed in the first round unless you are confident and think they can progress further than that. Because you want the reward to outweigh the risk.

I'm not sure, but probably the whole thing

i might switch it back to traditional

7 points for an upset is a lot id probably just pick mostly all upsets

it isn't always 7 points , it is the difference between the seed numbers
so if a 12 seed beats a 5, you get 1 point + 7 upset bonus points

but if it's just a 3 beating a 2 or something, it would only net you 1 extra point.

Sounds interesting

it might seem tempting to pick a bunch of crazy upsets in the first round, but if you do that and most of them don't pan out, your maximum points remaining will go way down.

im definitely gonna pick a few but they'll be informed choices , and only teams I think could advance past the second round.
