MAPS2010 Conference: Biggest Psychedelic Symposium in 17yrs

I bought my ticket. Come on, guys! You aren't going to let me go by myself?
 
We in virginia are gonna try and not let you go by yourself. Damn sure ill do everything to be there. Ive grown up past my eating acid just to trip days and think this would be well worth the dough to go.
 
^sadly, there probably aren't enough seminars to make that worth while. with some clever planning and killer itinerary though, you could probably drive around following bands and DJ's on tour and jump from one scene to the next, planning around the few seminars that do exist. well, you could do that in the US or something. maybe there are more seminars and shit outside of this country, fuck if I know.

i know when I get married, my honeymoon is going to involve something along those lines, substituting seminars for spas and scenery.
 
I had an awesome time at Horizons in NYC. I've known about this one conference for a while and decided after having such a good time at Horizons that I would save $ for a trip out west.

I got my plane ticket, my conference ticket, and my Shulgin benefit dinner ticket. I just need to book my hotel and I'm all set. I can't wait. I'm hoping to meet some fellow BLers out there.

Has anyone looked at any of the workshops they have available before and after the conference? I'm signing up for the one with David Nichols and Franz Vollenweider. I love learning shit about the way these chemicals work. David Nichols has kind of picked up were Shulgin left off, with designing new chemicals based on what he has learned about how the 5HT2a receptors work. Should be really interesting if your into that kind of stuff.

Yeah i'll be gonig to the dinner and the conference flying in from Australia can't wait. Be great to meet other BL members.
 
This looks like it's going to a great conference.. hope somebody remembers to bring a camera or a recorder.:) It would be nice to see this on google vids or see lorenzo pick it up, sucks that i won't be able to make it to another great meeting of the minds.:(
 
Aww mannnn I wish I could go to this, SO much! I missed a lot of the Horizons conference because my boyfriend didn't really want to go, and I'd love to make it to California for this but I'm on the east coast. I'll just make sure to go to Horizons next year-- all 3 days! :]

I'm really happy about this too and I even am shooting for a "trip guide" type career where I can lead therapy sessions this way. I know it's a long shot, but this is what I really want to do. If I can't work on these clinical trials, I'll try to find something similar that I fit in with. :D I just don't wanna be a plain psychologist that sits in a chair and listens, or anything like that... :/ So I'm going on to grad school to increase my options!! I hope all ends up well in this department.

Speaking of clinical trials, I was e-mailed about participating in one called "Psilocybin and Spiritual practice". Apparently I qualify, but I probably won't be able to do it because it's too far away. -_-;
 
Do we have any sort of role call running on who's going? I will definitely be attending. along with wombatilim & tyrsalvia.
 
Did anyone receive an actual ticket, or is it all handled electronically?

Still, the Atlantic seems a big ocean to cross just for a Psychedelic conference. I'll try and get some freelance work out there and use that as an excuse....
