I felt compelled to share this with other BLers who are hopeful - as I am - that MDMA will one day, preferably soon, be used as a tool in the treatment of certain mental disorders and - possibly - other medical conditions; granted it might be considered old news by some.
For years, I was a big supporter of MAPS, but in the past 3 or so, I had lost touch with them, their research, etc. I sure as hell feel I picked a good time to pay a visit to their site. Anyways, enough gabber from me.

Dear MAPS Members and Friends,
As summer approaches, I'm filled with both a profound sense of gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose.
MAPS has received a tremendous gift—approximately $5 million—from the estate of software pioneer and MAPS Board Member Ashawna Hailey, who passed away in October 2011 (press release).
Ashawna's gift brings us significantly closer to the $15 million needed to complete Phase 3 trials of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD and make it a legally available treatment, but we still have a long way to go.
The bequest is both a huge leap forward for our MDMA research program and a challenge to us to see that program completed: gratitude and purpose.
