Many people on BL know many find upstanding addicts or they are just full of shit

Many people on BL know many fine upstanding addicts or they are just full of shit

I've read many times over on BL people telling others that junkies that turn to crime must've already had criminal intent in their hearts.Then they go on to say how they know many junkies that are upstanding citizens that would never steal.

All I can say is that many of you are full of shit,only know junkies that are rich, or confuse a binger with an addict.

I guess it could be possible that North East U.S. is the only part of the country whose dope addicts turn to ripping people off to get their fix but I highly doubt it!

I never took anything that didn't belong to me until I was deep in my addiction(early 20's) and then yes I became a low life thief and an amazing liar!I no longer live that way and I am not proud I once did but every junky I ever knew (self included) would do what they had to in order not to go into withdrawals.I've never heard of a dopesick junky that had a conscience,that bag becomes your conscience.

I must have read on 20 different threads people trying to sell that line of bullshit "the only junkies I know that steal are ones that were already criminals,but the rest hold down a job and are very decent people".Again I say to this some people can hold it together for awhile but if they are a true smack junky eventually their habit becomes to big and they find illicit means to get it. Whatever it takes to get unill is the price and a true strung out addict will pay the whatever it is.Nothing scaares a junky worse then not having that next fix.
It gets to the point where it is no longer willpower because the only will that is left is the will to get more and now.

Anyway I haven't shot dope in years and amazingly haven't been a criminal in years as well. I have no temptation to rob,roll, or lie to someone because I no longer need my fix.But God forbid if I ever relapsed that shit would turn on like a switch.

So again some of you know some amazing junkies out there with will power or you don't know what a junky is or you are full of shit( I'll take they are full of shit for 500 bob)! No such thing as a junky with will power if that were the case they wouldn't be junkies!

"Junkies" steal because of the economics of prohibited drugs and the desperation of dependence.
There isn't a specifically causal link between addiction and crime, except in the cultural and legal environment we find ourselves in.
The deception and dishonesty associated with addiction has a lot to do with social stigmas as well.

It's not that some addicts aren't unpleasant people, but i dont think the link between addiction and property crimes is as simple as addict = bad person.
Also, it depends on your definition of "junkie". It means different things to different people.
 
I think you misunderstood what I was saying(or I misrepresented myself,tend to do that).I don't mean we are bad people but we (I was one) get desperate and because of the sickness feel we have no other alternative or get tunnel vision and do somethings we wouldn't ordinarily do. I'm not bashing addicts but I've read on here time and again that only certain(I'm talking heroin because that's what I'm familiar with) people who already had criminal intent in them commit cries for their fix. I'm saying once we get so hooked it's like we get possessed that we end up doing things that in our normal(or well) state we wouldn't normally do!
I'm sorry I have problems lately making myself clear.I will put more thought into what I say before I type.

After reading my first post I see I did come off as either a self righteous reformed addict or a self loathing one. I got pissed because I read another person posting basically saying(I guess that's how I came off also) because I did criminal shit to get my fix that I must've been a criminal before my addiction took hold. I'm merely trying to state it's usually the other way around.That we become so sick and our judgement get's worse we do things we wouldn't normally do. It's like keep drawing a line in the sand and little by little we cross another one until we cross so many that we become totally different people then who we really are.(I hope I'm making sense)

I'm so sorry and don't believe addicts are bad people but believe we can get so sick we make bad decisions we wouldn't do under normal circumstances!

Sigh, I use to steal, and could easlily lie...All the money I took when I first started on buying lortab tens and Methadone(I know, big jump it was when I was chipping get 20 Lortabs for the week and a Methadone wafer for the weekend...the tens would last me 2-3 days, then I would get high as hell on Methadone on the weekends....then another girl I kenw I might talk her outta a few tens. The honeymoon phase it was indeed. Everything was gonna be okay,lol.

Edit: I wouldn't have stolen or lied to get money but couldn't find a job at the time, it really sucked...so I scammed money did that opiate routine and smoked tons of pot the year I was 19.
 
I don't recall ever seeing anyone here say most heroin addicts are otherwise upstanding citizens or that if they steal they must already have criminal intention in their hearts. I think anyone who thinks they'd never steal or break the law are either stupid or never known anything resembling true desperation.

I'm sure there are some functional junkies. I'm not and I've yet to meet one though.
 
Go to the dope spot early morning. Those are the suits that couldn't get their regular guy. Nice cars and semi proffesional business atire.
