Mandy weekly VS Drinking weekly

So we all know that you shouldn't dose every weekend on MDMA, but can somebody explain how it actually affects your body? Is it worse than getting drunk every weekend?

Since I started taking MDMA a couple months ago, we've done it almost every weekend (with a couple weeks off). If I wasn't doing this I would be drinking, probably more than every weekend.

however, I believe you should really cut down and balance your E-use. The recommended break period is 1 month between each roll, and that is a minimum.

Yes, plenty of people get away with breaking that rule, everyone reacts differently.

Doing it every weekend though is pretty irresponsible, and if you want to get the most out of and the full appreciation of MDMA you should really cut down before you run into negative effects.

This is how MDMA works on our brains. It releases a large amount of serotonin, as shown in the diagram in that link. Most of our serotonin is found in our guts i believe. It is a Vital Neurochemical that effects our appetite/sleep patterns/quality of sleep/ energy levels/ concentration and general mood.
Lack of sleep / Anxiety / No appetite/ Depression / Low energy are some of the most common complaints that i read on here from using mdma too often.

The minimum wait between mdma use is 30 days. But it should be more around 60 - 90 days, however i know from seeing it firsthand that people especially in the uk just eat so much mdma.

If your using it weekly, it will seem weaker.
For example a friend of mine whos been raving for years, £20 worth of mdma lasts her a few hours.
£20 of mdma lasts me about 4 nights out minumum and hits me wayyyy harder.

Your tolerance will build (Which is basically just you are releasing too many neuorochemicals in your brain) you need to give them a chance to replenish.

Ive been using mdma for 12 months now. Ive used it about 13 times in that space of time.
Ive been using it nearly once a month, there was just once i did it 3 weeks later.

I have an amazing magical time on it, but ive noticed the last time, it wasnt as enjoyable, so im going to aim for once every 2 months.

You cannot compare MDMA with alcohol. Alcohol can kill and be horrible in its own way if abused, but MDMA is unique in that it depletes the vital neurochemical serotonin. The purported recovery time for your 5ht receptors and regeneration of serotonin is 30-90 days.

People violate these rules occasionally and can be just fine, but it's not something to test the waters with. Serotonin syndrome can prove fatal.

The key to MDMA being fun and virtually harmless is to space it properly.

The key to alcohol is primarily to not drink too much in a session, and secondarily not drink too much too often. Alcohol is far more of a hazard to society, but you can likely drink weekly for life- you cannot do this with MDMA.

I will probably cut down. I'm at uni so I pretty much have constant access to pure MDMA, so when people are going out on the weekend it's a choice of MDMA or drink. xD

And other drugs are likely gonna crop up in our house in the next few months (LSD and 2ci).
 
I don't think it's a fair comparison to just say MDMA vs alcohol. It's gotta be dose-for-dose, and I think the only thing compatible to a full on MDMA roll, as far as wear-and-tear on your body goes, would be getting absolutely hammered drunk. Just a couple beers with friends, catching a little buzz, is in no way fairly comparable with ~100-200mg MDMA.

I've read that a night on MDMA is comparably neurotoxic to a night of heavy drinking. Not just a couple shots/beers. We're talking stumbling, belligerent, sloppy, piss drunk is comparable to rolling in terms of toxicity. I think this is something that must be considered for this conversation for there to be any useful/accurate information to come of it. :)

Than again, I'm not doctor/chemist/scientist so I have no proof of that, but I think it's pretty safe to say that a few beers is NOT = an MDMA roll.

Good point. Well lets just say it IS that kind of heavy drinking that I'll be doing. :P

I know it's not fair to compare the two, since it's like comparing apples and oranges... but each week when I get the choice to drink or do MDMA I just want to be that little bit more informed as to which one will be "healthier".
 
Ofcourse you'll be better off drinking weekly than taking MDMA weekly, if you take MDMA weekly you're gonna ruin your serotonin receptors, build up heavy tolerance and run into a depression.

@Bone14: I've taken an MDMA break for the past two weeks, and alcohol has made me feel worse than MDMA ever did. Drinking makes you majorly depressed, people seem to forget this. Is MDMA induced depression worse than the severe depression caused by alcohol usage? (Along with the liver, heart, lung, stomach problems associated with drinking)
 
You say that as if there isn't any liver damage caused by MDMA.. Don't forget that drugs are just as harsh on the liver.
I also think that the depression caused from MDMA or alcohol can also vary from person to person. Your unique brain chemistry is also a factor. I know that, for me, MDMA induced depression seems to be worse than that from alcohol, but I'm not much of a drinker and seem to suffer less from hangovers than my friends.

I believe that MDMA and alcohol can be equally as damaging or toxic, but I think that really depends on how often you take each, the amounts, and other factors involved.
 
There is no debate really, there is a very simple way of comparing them. If you roll every week end or drink every week end, the person rolling will get more side effects and notice more damage 9 times out of 10. He will run into depression and anxiety, sleep problems and other drugs will not affect them the same. Alcohol is a damaging drug, but no where near on the same level as rolling dose for dose unless you drink wayy more often than you are rolling.

dude, beliveme, I was one none beliver, but MDMA will fuck you up if you abuse of it, and whats worts, you WILL lose the magic, no way around that, that is fucking horrible, its fucked up, I lost it, and all you have left there are dopaminic drugs, wich can seriusly lead you to fuck your life up, yeah I know 99% of this forum probably uses coke too, meth and shit, but thats my opinion (although Ive been a freacuent user of coke, at least 1 a month for the past year, im fighting against that shit..

Your life will be a constant roller fucking coster, 12 hours of fun for 48-72 hours of wanting to kill yourself, is not a good trade my friend... keep it on line, 4 weeks, and if you must, then 21 days is better than nothing... you can break the rules once in a while, but try that breaking the rule does not become in rule it self...

Excactly, I used to roll weekly but lately my comedowns from MDMA are getting progressively worse. My last time was 4 weeks ago and I still feel not ready to roll again. The few hours of fun you get is just not worth it. I'm going to extend this break way into the summer and see how it goes :)
 
Fuck alcohol, cop a jar of K and, space your rolls, don't learn the hard way...

I only rave usually twice a month, but sometimes i just have a k rave, then others i do md and k .
