Man banned from fuel stations for drinking petrol to get "high"

i've know a guy from brazil who said he once drank gasoline.. he claimed to have burped it up all day and he had a hangover from hell. drinking petrol has to be one of the most harmfull things you can do :)

GAS guzzler Brian Taylor has been jailed for three months because he could not stop drinking petrol.

Barmy Taylor was given an anti-social behaviour order to ban him from filling stations.

But he defied it and was caught again on CCTV sniffing fuel fumes at an Asda garage.

Police Sgt Brian Tams said after a court hearing in Guisborough, Cleveland: “We hope he can now get help to rehabilitate himself.”

Taylor, 36, got high on drinking the petrol and breathing in the fumes after cutting fuel pipes — costing Asda £6,000 in repairs.

He was first arrested after he started dancing around the forecourt of the same Asda garage in Middlesbrough.

Homeless Taylor was banned from every Asda fuel station and from going within 15 metres of any petrol station in Middlesbrough, Redcar or Cleveland until 2009.

A fuel sniffer has been jailed for breaching an antisocial behaviour order that banned him from petrol station forecourts in north-east England.

Brian Taylor, 36, received the Asbo last month after he was caught on CCTV slashing a fuel line at the Asda petrol station in South Bank, Middlesbrough, inhaling the fumes and dancing around the forecourt.

The order, which was intended to help him overcome his addiction, banned him from all Asda stations, and prevented him from going near any others in Middlesbrough, Redcar or Cleveland.

But Taylor, of no fixed address, was caught on camera a second time at the South Bank forecourt, and was jailed by Guisborough magistrates for three months this week after admitting breaching his order. The Asbo remains in place until January 2009.

"We are wanting this lad to get help," said Brian Tams of Cleveland police.

"Now that he has been imprisoned in breach of his Asbo, there may be a chance he can rehabilitate himself with the help of the prison services."

The case raises fresh questions about the effectiveness of Asbos. Figures out this month show that growing numbers of such orders are being breached.

Harry Fletcher, the assistant general secretary of the National Association of Probation Officers, said: "This is another example of the absurd use of Asbos. Someone with a chronic addiction is bound to re-offend and has been set up to fail. Prison is not a legitimate place for the treatment of addiction."

He cited other examples of what he saw as improper use of Asbos - including banning a suicidal woman from approaching rivers and railway lines, and banning a prostitute from carrying condoms - and called on the Home Office to conduct an urgent review of local authorities' interpretation of the legislation.

But Sergeant Tams said a jail sentence was appropriate in Taylor's case after a series of probation orders had failed to address his addiction. He said: "Asbos are designed to protect the public, which this man was endangering by cutting the fuel pipes."

Indigenous Australians who fit into the stereotype commonly entitled "boongs"

Largely adolescents (though many are older) who sniff spraypaint, petrol etc... incredibly violent, roam around in "mobs" ("gangs" is far too organised of a term for these groups) stealing shit (home invasions, groub bashings \ muggings) and just generally being a huge nuisance to anyone unlucky enough to cross their paths. Shouting out abuse etc...

They take little notice of police, and the police seem to have little power in charging these individuals with crimes (or, charging them, and then having them reappear on the streets within days due to leniency)

Read some of these newspaper articles from the past week... Sure, the Sunday Times is a pretty poor newspaper, but you'll get the point.

Arresting these juveniles does nothing. They need to be rehabilitated, many of them suffering huge physical damage from the various "gutter drugs" they use - brain damage is a very serious and common result of spraypaint abuse.

They're effect on society is shocking, with such a low percentage of our population being of Aboriginal descent, the disproportionally large numbers of Aborignal youths causing trouble (especially in the "nightlife" districts of Perth City, Northbridge and Fremantle) is appauling.

The articles regarding "neighbours" highlight the fact that Homeswest (Government department in regards to Public Housing) is totally incompetant when it comes to evicting tenants who blatantly disregard the acceptable behaviour policy.

Why?

The aboriginal people would be living on the street \ squatting if this housing was not available. As such, the behaviour policy is largerly IGNORED for these tennants.

Start kicking out huge numbers of aboriginals and what does it look like?

Some country towns in Western Australia (and other parts of Australia, I believe) are "Dry Towns" - Alcohol and Petroleum are prohibited.

People in these towns can only purchase Diesel Fuel for their vehicles - due to Aboriginal youths continually siphoning \ stealing Petrol from vehicles \ petrol stations.

Is this a solution to the problem? Of course not

The last living Aboriginal in Tasmania, a woman named Truganini was actually shipped back to England and displayed in a museum after her death.

Our Prime Minister the racist little weasel actually refused to say sorry to the Aboriginals on behalf of our terrorist white ancestry.

The problems exist. I'm not talking about the abhorrent treatment of aborigines in the past, I'm talking about the current problems that are blatantly evident.

We should have treated them differently. We didn't. We face the consequences.

The Aborignal culture is amazing, their mythologies, their amazing utilization of this "barren" land - I have respect for these people.

I am merely making a statement as to the vicious cycle that many aborignal communities are perpetuating, something needs to be done.
