Opioids Mammalian morphine pathways

If humans were to possess similar metabolic pathways would morphine precursors like THP be considered pro drugs?

Precursors and prodrugs are quite different. Precursors contribute to the chemical process necessary to produce a substance while prodrugs are inactive/less active substances that are metabolized into (more) active drugs.
