Making a stash of any opiate last longer = weaker doses = never get to really enjoy ones opiate DOC. For example, you go somewhere far from home, you'd need to bring "x" amount of heroin, oxy, hydro, etc... Whatever the DOC, and to make sure you don't run out too early, you have to take smaller than average doses, but these doses still do give a nice buzz, HOWEVER, the majority of times you dose, you are doing so to stay even or at baseline and to make sure you don't get sick, go through withdrawal etc...
In that type of situation (can even be @ home, whenever one has a stash is the key) I hate the fact that I don't get to take a / multiple doses big enough to get me as high as I'd like---that feeling is the whole reason I like to use the drug, so using and not getting that feeling sucks
I have a few ideas how to fix this, I welcome any comments:

1) Take smaller doses more frequently*
2) Take larger doses less frequently *
** The same total amount of drug is taken in #1 and #2
3) Try potentiating the doses
I'm unclear if potentiating results in a stronger high, an equally potent but longer lasting high, or a slightly--significantly diminished high but it lasts significantly longer, or something else
(Specifcally I'm talking about heroin, oxycodone, and hydrocodone, and white grapefruit juice and cimintadine (sp?) ---"Tagament")

Anybody with critique, comment, suggestion, experience, all welcomed

Discussion regarding potentiating should be taken to the Mega Potentiation thread. Different opioids are metabolized by different mechanisms and that will influence how that metabolism can be inhibited. Grapefruit juice is not magic and merely inhibits cyp3a4 of the p450s. As for what potentiating means, the way you are using it it means more total drug getting into your system. The rate at which that happens will again depend on ROA, the specific drug, and what you are trying to do. I think you should read up on it. The other meaning of potentiate is when you take some opioids but also take benzos or something and therefore "feel" the opiates more.

As for the rest, if dependent sat you need to keep a certain concentration of opioids in your blood to feel normal. If it drops down low then you experience withdrawal and if it rises up high then you get high. Assuming you have just enough opioids to stay baseline through the time period, it is purely personal preference if you want to spend some time at painful low levels in order to save up and spend some time at high enjoyable levels. There is no real secret to it.

Since I think this thread is merely the potentiation thread with a bit of "is getting high worth going through withdrawal" thrown in I'm going to close it.

Feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns about this but I really think you'd enjoy getting a better grasp on how substances are metabolized and how drug potentiation works as well.

edit:
1) Take smaller doses more frequently*
This is the best way to limit peaks and troughs in the drug concentration. For example the fent patch or sustained release medication (ideal SR at least).
