Heroin Making it last longer when smoking, ideas and experiences ?

Recently I was told by someone and saw one guy actually do it very briefly but putting water onto the rock and then dipping his finger in it and wiping "streaks" of it across the foil and smoking that to make it last longer I suppose. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions relating to this ?
