Making butane hash oil in alluminum cans

I am planning on making hash oil using butane. To cut down on costs i got the idea to just take 3 monster cans, cut the top off 2 and drill holes in the bottom of each 1. From there i want to use rubber bands to hold coffee filters to the bottom of each 1. Then just dump the bud into the first can followed by the butane and let it empty into a pyrex dish and then let the butane evaporate off. Would there be any problems with the butane and the cans? And how long would the butane take to evaporate completely? I Saw somewhere that the butane takes under an hour to evaporate.
 
PVC pipe is cheap and easy to get, why not just use that?

I am not aware of any problem between the butane and cans, but be sure to wear cloth gloves to prevent frost burn - that shit is cold! Also, the cans might also crumple if you are not careful. PVC pipe is way better for what you are doing.

It won't take long to evaporate, as the butane will boil away. You know what happens when a lighter explodes? That is butane inside. Be VERY CAREFUL there are no sparks or flames anywhere. Be outdoors, away from your house. Preferably in a field or somewhere remote.

While this can be done safely, you need to take every precaution very seriously.
 
Don't use PVC, butane can leach stuff out. Aside from getting cold real fast as long as you insulate them and wash them out real well aluminum cans will work.

Really? All the traditional BHO recipes I've read say to use PVC pipe. I'm not saying I don't believe you, I'm just curious as to if you have a source or know exactly what it is that gets leached out. Butane is in lighters, which are made of plastic, and I don't think it leaches anything out of those.

I'm interested to know if this is indeed safe with cans as well, and if so could you point me to a recipe or something? I might give it a shot if it's safe but I'd like to know how to best make the can dealio.
 
It is not very expensive at all to go to home depot and get a short length of copper pipe with 2 end caps.
 
its even easier to go buy any metal turkey baster Stainless steel is best, under 10 bucks online. Or a glass one for cheaper

I have never heard this. Pretty much every method I have seen for making honey oil involves using PVC. Are you sure butane will leach stuff out of PVC?

I've seen alot of claims online saying its true, but havent seen any solid science behind why yet. But I also havent spent much time looking into it so It could be true. Google it see what ya can find
 
aluminium cans have a coating inside as a barrier between the alum and liquid that could be dissolved by the butane. personally, i would only ever use clean brass, copper or SS.
 
get a 3mm glass drill bit.

drill a hole in the botttom of a beer bottle and you have a great glass tube, different sizes depending on how much you want to make etc.
 
Make your honey bee out of PVC, aluminum cant handle the amount of pressure required to make it right, at least not a can. I have been using PVC for this for about 10 years, I have yet to make a batch of oil that doesn't taste and react 100% like keif and nothing else.

fire ass trim or weed no shitty shit trim or bud unless you actually want OIL if you want blond waxy bricks get the fire then hmu its very easy i see a lot of errors in those youtube videos most of them not all
