anyone not scared of taking that shit ? seems to be a disgusting filler and lubricant used in like 90% of supplements. if you google, you can find a lot of information on it being detrimental in one way or another. how the fuck do you avoid it ? what can you replace it with ? im confused because of its wide availability and no actual replacement for. :(

No, why would anyone be scared of it. It's a naturally-occurring substance found in lots of different types of meats, chocolate, etc, as well as a common binder found in pharmaceuticals, a lubricant (e.g. found in soap etc), and I'm sure it's found in many other things. From what I've read it's not really toxic unless you're ingesting more than 14-15 grams a day, which is next to impossible to achieve considering the low levels it is found in tablets and foods. In my opinion there are millions of other things to be more concerned about putting in to our bodies, than magnesium stearate ;)

actually you didnt do good research. 14-15 grams not a day, but it might be enough for a year time. it builds up in your body. it sticks to your stomach, guts all over colon and over time its impossible to remove and you cannot absorb nutrients. i know this cuz i have been taking supplements for years and im finding out i cannot absorb nutrients properly. it is extremely underated toxin. it has been proven in rats and other animals to cause damage to organs. and u dont know need the 14-15 grams in a day. it builds up over years even. its hard to remove it ! im trying to find a way to cleanse it but i dunno yet. wish more companies made stearate free supplements !!!

^crap what are your symptoms of malabsorption?
i've been taking supplements for a little over a year (i mean a LOT of pills) and i've always worried.
although since going sober i've tried to cut down, and im taking a cleansing supplement which is supposed to remove internal mucus n all that lovely stuff.

check the infamous "other ingredients" on your cleansing supplement. does it contain magnesium stearate ? chance is your not cleansing yourself.

Can you please give some citations? Your claims are extraordinary. I honestly don't see why stearic acid would be metabolized differently from other saturated fatty acids.
...
Stearate salts are so common in supplements because
1. stearic acid is a common byproduct in processing of animals and
2. stearate salts are soluble in nonpolar solvents, facilitating easier production of solid pills.

I believe, though, that the bioavailability of magnesium stearate is lower than that of other salts of mg.

Microcrystaline Cellulose makes good pills...Royal jelly clears out the colon and lymphatic system, destroys free radical and foreign cell bodies with in us.

Line juice contains enzymes which replace dead tissue and cleanses along the way.

QFT. As long as we're treating our bodies right otherwise, our bodies should be able to handle cleansing itself of toxins on its own, even if Magnesium Stearate IS a toxin.

Furthermore, it's not gonna build up like that. Gunk building up in your intestines like that is a myth. Gunk builds up spread out all over our body in all our cells, and when people poop out mucus, black stuff, whatever, it came from those cells. Also, like I said, our bodies should be able to handle that. There are far worse toxins to be worried about (do you cook in aluminum foil? Teflon? Do you eat canned tuna? A lot of canned things in general? Pasteurized milk? Artificial sweeteners? High fructose corn syrup? Sugar? Do you eat when you're not hungry? Do you drink enough water? Do you let your digestive system rest? Do you brush your teeth twice a day? Mkay Ima stop. Sorry bout the rant.

tl;dr
Your body has bigger fish to fry.

+1.

If you're so worried about magnesium stearate, don't take items that contain it and get your vitamins/minerals from food instead of a supplement. Yes, I know food can't be guaranteed to have the stated vitamin/mineral content based on where it was grown, in which soil, treated with what chemical, blah blah blah, but that's what fortification is for! I kid, but seriously: Avoid it if you don't want to ingest it.

(Also, asecin, I found a food that states it's irradiated! My dog's raw-hides state that they have been treated with irradiation. LOL.)

^haha yess :)
in other news after a rather stressful event on friday im not taking any more pills other than my multivitamin, which im still not sure about :\

seems like the wiser mods are posting in here (AHEM *looks at PiP ;)* )
should i still log onto Bluelight if i'm clean now? i'm gonna type upp a blog about it later because i need to vent but i feel like if i wanna pursue my career as a dietician, going onto BL and just browsing/commenting in HL is something i should do. i dont know im just scared/confused/etc, mums taking me to a substance abuse facility tomorrow and they're gonna evaluate wether or not i need to be an in-patient or out-patient.
and im suspended from school for the next week so i've got an unhealthy amount of time on my hands AND NOTHING TO DO -________-

^ I browse BL and I have been sober from illicit drugs for over a year now. I too am studying to work in the nutrition field, though as a DTR. PM me and we can talk offsite if you wish--I love talking with people interested in nutrition. :)

ok fine. nobody takes me serious.

wtf does "I wanted relevant research on which you base your opinion. I did not want you to run a google search for me. :P" mean ? obviously you didnt google it yourself so i helped out.

now i dont care about you guys, obviously you dont give a shit. but i do, and im sick of problems (particularly absorption which is most proven side effects of stearates) so i wish i find supplements without it. problem is, since there is no demand for those, companies do not give a shit to make any :( why is there no demand for those ? because CONSUMERS ARE IGNORANT IDIOTS. how long it took for many other additives from foods and pills to be removed ? people like now used to say "oh its fine" now see most labels state with huge letters "NO FILLERS, ADDITIVES" particularly foods. if you guys wisen up, we can have demand for quality.

isnt only really harmful if your smoking or IV'ing pills? ends up in your heart and/or lungs? plus if you swallow pills like your supposed to dosent your body process/get rid of it properly? sorry this is just what i read on BL and sorry im only using pills as a comparison.

panic in paradise wtf is this related to ? i was discussing stearates and you come here and paste some stuff from who knows where discussing someone's tumors !? wtf !

sorry, i take what you said seriously, and was trying to break the ice by tossing out another wacky "assumption".

i was discussing myself,
and trying to show how many of us are embarrassed or afraid of ridicule to share information such as this.

all that stuff i said is proven in labs to work, same with Sodium bicarbonate, and Hypno Therapy, but because these "thoughts" are meet with shame and dis belief, as your theory, they go un-heard. there is always an easier way to do everything, that includes consuming nutrients and fighting these intimidating disease which for the most part 'scare people to death'.
