I bought a Rock Candy Kit & a Christmas Lollipops kit, but if I did it again I would get two of the Rock Candy Kits, because the molds are very nice & small, like lozenge size one mold had 64 & the other one has 100. The christmas lollypop kit has two trays, each makes 5 lollys, & comes with 25 sticks. You will also need a real candy thermometer, as you will be heating sugar & powdered corn syrup to 300 degrees F. if the heat is wrong you could wind up with a syrup that is only hard in the refrigerator (still tastes ok) In each kit you get two batches worth of candy, only need to add water & granulated white sugar & also raspberry, butter rum,peppermint & cinnamon flavorings. We made one batch of peppermint that tastes very good, I should've had the hash paste already gathered together on a big spoon, instead I had to stop & scrape it out of the pan, which took so long the batch cooled down & part was lost, as it stuck in the pan, which paid in full for it's insolence by enduring a severe beating with the spoon, causing much of the candy to break off. I am glad I bought a 2 qt sauce pan to begin with.
Making it: We started with 8.75gr hash place 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in an 8" pan, I use a teflon-coated egg pan. Turn the stove on low we use "3" on the electric stove drop the chunk, or pieces of hash in the oil & stir around with the back of a metal spoon occaisionally until the hash all dissolves and you have a sticky paste of uniform color- put this paste onto a metal kitchen implement, I used a large metal spoon-Put aside for a bit.
