Lyrics Lyrics that appeal to you today... 2006-2023

She ionizes and atomizes
Then turns to sunlight
He realizes and itemizes
Pulls harder than gravity
She ionizes and atomizes
Then turns to sunlight
Florescent lightbulbs will make
An absence of dark, but
The light just ain't there still and she said
"I'm feeling empty,
The real lights can make you heavy but
Never ever really empty
Florescent lights will always equal empty"

Modest Mouse - She Ionizes & Atomizes

Songwriters: C. KIRKWOOD & K. COBAIN

Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau
Some belonged to strangers, some to folks you know
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand
To beautify the foothills, and shake the many hands

nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
See a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you (got) words

finished with the mop then you can stop
And look at what you've done
The plateau's clean, no dirt to be seen
And the work it was fun

nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
See a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you (got) words

Many a hands began to scan around for the next plateau
Some say it was Greenland, and some say Mexico
Others decided it was nowhere except for where they stood
But those were all just guesses, wouldn't help you if they could

Fearlessness - Tori Amos

Fearlessness blew in
with the wind
waking up to greet the sun
We sailed on like the ancient ones
into the Nine Underworlds
We knew Dangers would come
I had faith in both of us

Listen to your heart
you can hear me
Listen to your heart
you can hear me

Day turned night when he questioned,
"Why can't you balance the skies?"
Soulless storms have sent Watchers
with blade-less weapons to fight

Teams of Horses of the Brine
followed his cry
through the fire
Demons of the Wild hissed with the wind
did you listen?

Listen to your heart
can you hear me
Listen to your heart
can you hear me

Fearlessness soon reminded me,
"You must be stronger than they"
cautioning, "There are those who live
who be cruel for the fun of it."

He let in a dark companion
that orbited in between us
His siren friends convinced him that Love
was no match against storms to come
Their songs inflamed by Doubt
Fearlessness drown them out

Teams of Horses of the Brine
followed his cry
through the fire
Demons of the Wild hissed with the wind
did you listen?

Listen to your heart
can you hear me
Listen to your heart
can you hear me

Did we begin
without knowing it
to find fault in every gift
Then that was when
the Blame began
What were once 2 forces joined
in Fearlessness

Oh I beg you, can I follow?
Oh I ask you, why not always?
Be the ocean, where I unravel
Be my only, be the water where I'm wading.

You're my river running high,
Run deep, run wild.

I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark doom honey, I follow you

He a message, I'm the runner.
He the rebel, I'm the daughter waiting for you.

You're my river running high
Run deep, run wild.

I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark doom honey, I follow you

You're my river running high,
Run deep, run wild.

I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark doom honey, I follow you

I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I, I follow, I follow you
Dark doom honey, I follow you

Had this on replay while taking a bath, when I noticed a black widow has a web (again) around a foot from where I lay my head. Too perfect ;)

Now I dont know what to do with her.!

Inside of me today
There is no one
Only asteroids and empty space
A waste

...They're looking through the windows at me...

Get me out of this air-conditioned nightmare
Rots your brain just like a catchy tune, yeah
You will hate life more than life hates you

Happiness is your illness in an air-conditioned nightmare

...Burn all your mementos of me...

Walkin' on air
Up from the wheelchair
I'll find the suicide
That I deserve

Walkin' on sand
Forgotten where I am
But it's so comfortable
Here in the sun...

I only see rainbows
Now that the bandages are gone
Through my window, there

From the skyscrapers
Down to the submarines

Birds and fairies
Sanctuaries
Atop the rolling hills of hell

These words are sledgehammers
Of truth
That pound the iron heart
Of sin

Bloody smiling
Vandalizing
My wet dream is drying up...

Where's my rainbow?
Where's my halo?

There's my halo!

Mama was queen of the Mambo
Papa was king of the Kongo
Deep down in the jungle
I start banging my first bongo
Every monkey'd like to be in my place instead of me
Cause I'm the king of Bongo baby I'm the king of Bongo-bong

I went to the big town where there is a lot of sound
From the jungle to the city looking for a bigger crowd
So I played my boogie for the people of big city
But they don't go crazy when I'm banging on my boogie

the King of the bongo, king of the bongo
hear me when i come baby
King of the bongo king of the bongo
hear me when i come

Nobody'd like to be in my place instead of me
cause nobody go crazy when i bang it on my boogie
I'm a king without a crown and keep loosing the big town
But I'm the king of bongo baby I'm the king of bongo-bong

They say that Im a clown making too much dirty sound
They say there is no place for little monkey in this town
Nobody'd like to be in my place instead of me
Cause nobody go crazy when I'm bangin on my boogie

Bang it on my bongo all that swing belongs to me
I'm so happy there's nobody in my place instead of me
I'm a king without a crown and keep loosing the big town
I'm the king of bongo, baby I'm the king of bongo-bong

Mama was queen of the Mambo
Papa was king of the Kongo
Deep down in the jungle
I start banging my first bongo
Every monkey'd like to be in my place instead of me
Cause Im the king of Bongo baby Im the king of Bongo-bong

Hear me when I come
Hear me when I come baby
Hear me when I come

Robot Boy

You say you're not going to fight
Because no one will fight for you
And you think there's not enough love
And no one to give it to
And you're sure you've hurt for so long
You've got nothing left to lose
So you say you're not going to fight
Because no one will fight for you

You say the weight of the world
Has kept you from letting go
And you think compassion's a flaw
And you'll never let it show
And you're sure you've hurt in a way
That no one will ever know

But someday the weight of the world
Will give you strength to go

Hold on, the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go
So hold on, the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go
So hold on, the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go
Just hold, on the weight of the world
Will give you the strength to go

A jail cell is freedom from the pain in my home
Hatred passed on, passed on and passed on
A world of violent rage
But it's one that I can recognize
Having never seen the color of my father's eyes
Yes, I dwell in hell, but it's a hell that I can grip
I tried to grip my family
But I slipped

To escape from the pain in an existence mundane
I got a 9, a sign, a set and now I gotta name

Read my writing on the wall
No-one's here to catch me when I fall
Death is on my side....suicide!

Caught between my culture and the system....genocide!

Read my writing on the wall
No-one's here to catch me when I fall
If ignorance is bliss, then knock the smile off my face
Yeah!

If we don't take action now
We settle for nothing later

I don't hate you, or want you
I want to wake you.
There's a crack in the window
Return off the key in ignition.

So if you freeze tomorrow
Come back
Lucky
We saw that your eyes were closing.

There's a crack in the window
Return off the key in ignition.
But I don't hate you, or want you,
or celebrate you.

So if you freeze tomorrow
Come back
Lucky
We said that your eyes were closing.

So if you freeze tomorrow
Come back
Lucky.
We saw that your eyes were closing.

But I don't hate you, or want you,
Enough to wake you.

So if you freeze tomorrow
Come back
Lucky.
We said that your eyes were closing.

So if you freeze tomorrow
Come back
Lucky.
We saw that your eyes were closing.
We saw that your eyes were closing.
We said that your eyes were closing.
We saw that your eyes were closing.
We saw that your eyes were closing.
So if you freeze tomorrow
Come back
Lucky.

The keeper of the city keys
Puts shutters on the dreams.
I wait outside the pilgrim's door
With insufficient schemes.
The black queen chants the funeral march
The cracked brass bells will ring;
To summon back the fire witch
TO THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING.

I made a thread THEN read the forum rules, here are some lyrics to a song I just wrote and am in the mood for sharing with anyone. The guitar part is folkrockfunky as all hell and I wish you could hear it.

Anatomy of an evening (deconstruct the dots)

Lately I've been feeling cramped:
my sister's here from Michigan
on vacation from amphetamines
whose shine has gone away.

Well ain't we all been there before
on a foolhard race to fight the dawn.
Feign that there is nothing wrong
until you get some space.

[chorusy part!]I find it hard to write a tune
with someone always in the room,
consideration kills the mood
so I have to get away.
Off to grab a pizza and beer
and listen to a cowboy play.[end chorus]

Stephanie sits at the bar and eats
raising Starry Night tatooed Van Gogh sleeve.
Sit down and share a drink with me.

Once before we had a frantic night:
got two tickets, brown bag booze and fake snow in sight.
Whirlwind city suite stripclub tour,
now a haze of memory.

[chorusy part!]Misery doesn't just love company
but smiles and invites along everyone he meets.
Let's find a bar serving drinks til the hour is late,
til we've had enough.[/chorus]

(so here we are)Three sheets to the wind again
drinking basement wine here with you my friend.
Is the evening gone, did it just begin,
the clock strikes another day.

Put "How I Met Your Mother" on
and ignore it til the break of dawn.
We wonder if we're doing wrong
but nature gets it's way.

A forgotten fact of life:
Women's zippers are a smaller size.
It's obvious when you realize
that there's nothing in the way [x3 and i wish I could do a robert plant style voice here ahahhaa]

[chorus!]Sometimes even I can connect the dots
of pointillistic imagery to the discontent at heart.
Is it a junkstore find, diamond mine, or jewel in the rough, tell me.
I'm a shopkeeper offering free on the dollar,
it don't matter babe, you can pick me up
anytime.

If you made it this far I hope you enjoyed! Like I said, been a while since I've posted anything here, just remembered that I did at one point since I was trying to find some things I had written in the past and recalled they were stored on these here forums.
Be well :^)

The Twang Feat the Streets & Professor Green - Either Way

This days been so long I don’t recall the sunrise
Things you said this morning felt like yesterdays advice
I used to think a night alone was a soiree wasted
Until me and you got heartily wasted
And lay in the daisies and the next day
It seemed like a waste us both parting ways
I put the daisy on my window sill and it faded away

I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away.
Just cause I’m on one, who says I’m always gonna, I’m always gonna.
Just cause I’m on one, who says I’m always gonna, I’m always gonna.

I was glad I turned the corner man, cuz I was sick of feelin rough
I was getting paranoid about the silliest of stuff.
I was at me wit’s end pulling my hair out, I'd just about had enough.
And all I needed was a hug and that little bit of love.

I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away.
Just cause I’m on one, who says I’m always gonna, I’m always gonna.
Just cause I’m on one, who says I’m always gonna, I’m always gonna.

But then many days of rows and fights
And a thousand nights
Sat in the garden as you walk things round in your mind
I’m sat on the bench hoping you'd get off the fence
I don’t want things to fizzle or sour
Lets slow things down to 60 minutes an hour.

I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away.
Just cause I’m on one, who says I’m always gonna, I’m always gonna.
Just cause I’m on one, who says I’m always gonna, I’m always gonna.

And yeah I really do feel better and it almost don’t feel right,
So I’m gonna store this thought away for a bit,
And I'm not saying it aint gonna be hard at times,
Cuz it's always your favourite top you bin,
But think man it could have been your skin.
And I think we might just be OK, but what does it matter either way,
Cuz she's the one that's always there.
Yeah she's the one that always cares.
Yeah she's the one that always there.
Cuz your the one that always cares.
I love ya.

Cause we always row and I’m always right
So we always fight
Fridays highs to Tuesdays blues
Is a fast slide to the drugs we use
Who knows
But I feel a way and I really hope you feel the same cause there’s something that I gotta say
Oh either way I gotta tell ya
Oh either way I gotta tell ya
Oh either way I gotta say

Either way, either way (Just cause I'm on one, who says I’m always gonna, I'm always gonna)
Either way, either way (Just cause I'm on one, who says I’m always gonna, I'm always gonna)
Either way, either way

There’s no other way to say this other then I’ve been a fool
Accusing you of things I didn't really think you'd do
But you were drunk and so was I
It wasn’t looking too good for a moment
But it looks so much better through sober eyes
Even though they're only half open.

Out Kast - Wheelz of Steel

[Intro: Big Boi]

Uh
As I sit in my b-boy stance
With flip-flops and socks, and sweatpants
We finna enhance your brain, check it out

[Verse One (Big Boi, Andre):]
Once upon a time not long ago
When the player from the Pointe didn't have no flow
A nigga hit me for my tennis shoes, walking to the store
Caught a nigga slippin, but now I lay it to the floor
just like carpet, cause I got the heat in my rhythm
Momma nay not, never braggin just to stay knot
Even when I was a younger lad I learned my lesson
Never talked to strangers in the trap and answered questions

The Pope and his folks got us under a scope
But for unknown reasons cause we don't sell dope
That you distribute, we don't contribute, to your clandestine
activity, my soliloquy, may be hard for some to swallow
But so is cod liver oil
You went behind my back like Bluto when he cut up Olive Oyl
Two things I hate lies and thieves they make my blood boil
Boa constricted, on my soul that they call

[Chorus (Andre):]
Touched by the wheels of steel...
Now show me how you feel...
Touched by the wheels of steel...
Now show me how you feel...

[Verse Two (Big Boi, Andre):]
It took your momma nine months to make it
But it only took a nigga thirty minutes to take it
Cut that kronk clean up I did, but I did so not safely
Don't want no AIDS, *clapping* no claps, or no rabies

Yo, we take no shit, like um, stopped up comodes
Gotta collect call, they done locked up my folks
Low blow, hit me in the left ventricle
We won't be able to ride out till two thousand four

But not for long cause we got a better sack to serve
Trying to take you other people for your rims at the curb
Fore you swerve and bust ya forehead, go head, go head
More head for me, while you ride to the beat

Drop, like Tears, like For Fears, you know
Shout Shout let it all out, just for my peers
And pupils who feel like it's time to unwind
Like December 31st, on nineteen-ninety-nine

[Chorus]

[Verse Three (Andre):]
OK, like this, yeah yeah

One time for my boy doing King shit

Two times for Legit and it don't quit

Three times for my folks in the drop top

Four times OutKast and it don't stop

One time for my cause doing Queen things

Dead fresh to the teeth eating chicken wings

Three times for my guhls in the beauty shop
Four times OutKast and I

fiona apple - oh well

What you did to me made me
See myself something different
Though I try to talk sense to myself
But I just won't listen

Won't you go away
Turn yourself in
You're no good at confession
Before the image that you burned me in
Tries to teach you a lesson

What you did to me
Made me see myself somethin' awful
A voice once stentorian
Is now again weak and muffled
It took me such a long time to get back up
The first time you did it
I stand tall, I had to get it back
And all this seems I've now bit it

My peace and quiet was stolen from me
When I was looking with calm affection
You were searching out my imperfections

What wasted unconditional love
On somebody
Who doesn't believe in this stuff

You came up on me like a hipnik jerk
When I was just about settled
And when it counts you recoil
With the cryptic wording you leave a love belittled
Oh what a cold and a common old way to go

I was feeding on the need for you to know me
Devastated on the rage you fell below me

What wasted unconditional love
On somebody
Who doesn't believe in this stuff

Oh well

Nice!

Our whole.. has been shattered
By those who matter
With their power and their fame.

My mind has been broken
By those unspoken
Revelations in the dream.

==Chorus
There is nothing left to see
We are all just different versions of the same thing

There is nothing left to learn
Its all an illusion , desires for which we yearn

++

Get fucked! With your logic and reason
You’ve committed treason, against your spirit and youre god

The flames burn.. below the surface of the ocean
Where the serpents dwell below us.
In the after/ underworld

+++

Life is only a dream
In the mind of the supreme being

There is nothing left to see..
We are all versions of the same being

Open your heart to the light?
Let your demons run off in the nite

Cleansing of your heart and soul
Do it all over and over again

Don’t touch! Don’t touch my precious!
Don’t get so reckless!
Excited and lazy.

I’m king. King of the sofa.
King of the TV
Rumination and damnation misery.

Get fucked
That one last bottle.
Wash it down with some capsules.
Get numb and dumb and weed.

Push
Push your power
Before babylones tower.
I can’t hear what your saying.
I can’t hear what your saying.

I wrote that today
