Lyrica, I am fucking cured

NUFF O.J. ?

first I take 300 mg neurontin three times a day
I wrote it wrong above but its now corrected with the edit feature so :

usually:
I do like so -- I take my 1 300 mg Neurontin capsule at 7 am .
and then at

about 1 pm I take the 100mg Lyrica and for the next 6 to 8 hours i feel "different" and good and I tend to find my self talking to strangers. " your baby Is CUTE --and I rarely think babies are cute -- but you have got one cute little baby there, dontcha ?"

nothing crazy , just fun , good stuff. then when it wears off i take a neurontin bring me up to bed time
sometimes I TAKE TWO LYRICAS
and I feel really nice my eyes strobe once in a while with red flashes if im in a dark area or white flashes if Im out side in the daylight. it sometimes gets me antsy I cant listen to music ( especially any dark downer stuff), life feels short time flies, and I impulse buy and eat a lot, but it goes away in a few hours !
about getting spaced out :
the irony is , though i though caffeine would HELP that aspect , it is not true . I no longer drink ANY caffeine and my mind is NOT dulled by the Lyrica
and i dont ven get tired from it . I force myself to drink a hell of a lot of water and eat small frequent meals. in the end , lyrica doesnt help my PAIN as well as neurontin but lyrica is fun . i have taken three before with good results ( I had CEVs !! and called old friends ) and four Lyricas, I think i crawled into bed and napped all day.
I take the neurontin daily and the lyrica once a week or once a month whatever its not addicting , since i am well-hooked into the neurontin for the pinched nerve in my skull crack .

I have taken lyrica and neurontin at the SAME time but not often and it wasnt memorable.

you mentionned forgetfulness bu I think that can be managed a bit by concentrating , almost zenstyle . on everything , be very mindfull and all that . Good luck with it . Ive been on this since OCT 2003 and I'm fine .

PS lyrica makes me go from not thinking about sex

to suddenly wanting to amplexus the nearest sexus nexus
three times in a row !
anyone else have that ??

i dont see why the hell not . tell the DR it was the only thing that worked, and it had no side effects , and you need a med that lets you feel normal ,as if youre not on anything at all. ha

have any of you people suffering anxiety tried CBT? meds are great for short term action but in the long run isnt it just better to treat the source of the problem?

Neurontin is a bit different (eventhough it is very similar to Lyrica, etc... chemically)
It gives you spacey effects the first time you try it at a high dose.
It doesn't feel "GABAergic" at all (no sedation, amnesia, euphoria, etc...)

It can help with anxiety, and also to get off benzos; but for these 2 purposes Lyrica/Gabitril/Sabril/etc... are much better... (but Neurontin is still good)

And when you mix it with benzos, it doesn't add anything... You just feel the benzos, nothing more...

I got an effect from Neurontin ONLY the first time I tried it, and it was a huge dose (more than 4000mg...); after that, I've never felt anything from it...

I felt like the effects of neurontin were kind of similar to lyrica. But there definitely felt like there was less sedation though. Neurontin is actually theorized to target your GABA B receptors where as barbs, alcohol, and benzos target GABA A. What makes neurontin so interesting is that the GABA B receptors are the same target as for GHB. In high doses its supposed to be a similar feeling.

Lyrica is great though. It seems like a much more functional alternative for general anxiety than benzos, although it may not be as pleasureable. But whats the point of getting pleasure if you're blacked out on benzos and wont remember it later. hahaha :p

yes, but not enough, i need to get a therapist (not just a psychopharmocologist) and work on CBT with him/her. I do it myself but i need to talk it out with a shrink.

side effects on lyrica like the zombie-ness do go away pretty quickly. give it about a week.... then tell your doc you need more :) Oh ya and no doubt, Lyrica is different from neurontin. don't ask me for specific details.... as if I could remember them anyways haha

after about a year on this stuff, it still makes me feel ooey and gooey inside and I sure like that :)

maybe i'll try it again and hopefully the zombie feeling will go away, but i just UP'd my dose of neurontin from 300mg a day to 600mg and am FEELING AMAZING, anxiety free, confident, motivated, very very nice.
