Lyrica, I am fucking cured

I went to the doctor today to get my valium, phenergan/zopiclone for sleep, and only had a small hope of convincing him to give me lyrica. I was certain he'd say I wanted it for some evil purpose, since he's not a fan of new meds

Lyrica is not indicated for anexiety here, so I said what I had read about its effects on anexiety and that it would ease my benzo intake. After some back and forth he prescribed me 150mg's a day, along with m6y 20mg valium.

I took one 75mg capsule, and on the buss home I suddenly cought myself talking to a group of strangers about orur favourite music and such. Normally I sit at the back and avoid all eye-contact and curse when someone takes the seat next to me. I feel totaly cured of anexiety:D


I don't plan on abusing this, since I wouldn't loose this effect for anything. I do however found that it, fior me anyway, doubles the effect of valium. I am also tapering myself down with buprenorphine and shooting 1mg today felt like something from many years ago, it was almost too good. Smoking some hash made me smile like a fool, and coffe doesn't touch the sedation from the meds.

Do any of you know how long the loss of balance, slight but anoying, will last? And to any others on lyrica daily, how much does it loose its effects over time? I don't think it can work this well forever

I use it for anxiety and relief of a sleep disorder as well. it does work relatively well. I think of it as benzos little brother. What I have been doing is alternating days ie use Lyrica for a few days and then benzos for a few days on an alternating basis.

I think this drug would be usfull in benzo withdrawl. I'm sure it potentiates benzos but coming off both combined would be worse.

It does seem to be useful in nearogenic pain syndromes as well and decreases my involuntarty movements in sleed from PLMD.

Overall seems like a quite usefull drug.

seems like a honeymoon to me , dont forget its a new downer class for you , like you have no tolerance to its euphoria no matter your benzo or opiod tolerance (although it ranks more along weed or something)

well glad it works for you man , but the bit about talking to people on the bus

i always talk to random people when i get euphoric (not on uppers though too paranoid) , so i dont think this is what the doc had in mind when prescribing and it will propably fade

Its my honeymoon qwith lyrica yes, but if it helps me half as much in some time I'm still pleased with it. I am going to try and stay on a regimen of 150mg lyrica, 20mg valium, possibly 2mg klonopin and 1-2mg buprenorphine.

Thats like making my brain normal again, add hash and I'm as far from normal as you'd get

Bipolar, I don't know, but I do know that SSRI's suck and I am happier off remeron, which is in the same league. I am an asperger by the way, I don't have a clue what that means for my medical needs and effects.

p.s lyrica is pregabalin right? how did you bring it your doctor , docs hardly script benzo's to people under 30 here and i dont want anything to do with those ssri's

I have been on benzos for over four year, and got addicted in psychriatric hospital when I was locked away for a half year after a SERIOUS speed-psychosis(I was there way too long, even the doctor admitted it). They practiacally forced me to take 4x 25mg Sobril(oxazepam) a day.

My doc probably doesn't dare take me off, since I am utterly unfunctional off them. I am also very good at using my diagnosis way beyond its actuall impact The lyrica is still working like magic, its a life saver for me. I tried xanax on it today, and I am pill-fucked for the first time in months, lyrica works VERY well with xanax Took 4mg, have 6mg more

I was actualy just put on 50mg lyrica 3x a day today. My doctor and I have been trying to find something to controll my anxiety while so i can begin to ween off my daily klonapin which right now is at 1.5mgs and stablized. I am excited to try it and am hoping it will be the solution ive been looking for as the poster suggested. After a couple days ill start a new thread and give an update on how its going. All i did was mention that i heard good things about it. My docto

When I asked my doc to prescribe me Lyrica and I got a script for it, I was sure that my anxiety would be soonly cured, when I got my 56x150mg Lyrica box at the pharmacy, I thought I had in my hands the miracle medication that would cure every problem.

I was soonly disapointed... Lyrica don't work very well for anxiety... Benzos work MUCH better fot that purpose.
I'm sure, however that lyrica is good for neuropathic pain (that's its main indication)

Concerning Anxiety, you have to take more than 500mg Lyrica to get the same effects than 20mg Diazepam...

I think Lyrica is a very good medication, but for neuropathic pain or epilepsy, but not anxiety...
So don't expect too much from it...

I tried taking 1mg kpin and 150mg lyrica today and was blown away it feels as if i took 5mg of kpin and i have zero anxiety. I feel completely normal andd anxiety free for the first time in as long as i can remember.

My doctor and I have been trying to find a suitable way to controll my anxiety so i can begin to taper and i think i have found it. Do you think lyrica is a good choice to help get off benzos? Together they are incredible and alone i imagine is pretty good too. I will have benzos for a while longer but it seems as if i am not going to need that much. what i took today was much to strong for me to function normally in school. I think i will be able to ween off my benzos finally after trying different ssris and having them not work. Any thoughts?

I am wondering if a doctor will prescribe Lyrica in Canada for anxiety. I've tryed SSRI's Paxil and Cipralex, and I think they may have helped anxiety somewhat. But they turned me into an evil, lazy guy who is depressed more than I was before. I don't think SSRI's are the route for me. I am currently still weaning off Cipralex (Lexapro in the US).

Lyrica for me works fucking fantastic. Miracle drug for my strong anxiety and Bipolar 2. Even tho it sedates me it makes me want to work and be productive and do good things... strange drug.

As far as it going away over time it initially will lose 1/2 to 2/3rds its initial effect. Unlike benzos tho after your adjust your dose up to what works it wont go down again. I started with 150mg twice a day with great effects.
i currently take 300-600mg twice a day and ive been doing that for months, working great.

300-600mg is kind of a high dose and fucking pricey if u dont have insurance. Asside from the dent in my bank account this drug is the best ive been prescribed and ive had them all. Rediculously effective cure for my anxiety. I mean... normally my anxiety is so bad I physically shake, just talking to people. With Lyrica the anti-axiety effect is equivallent to 8 beers without all the effects of being drunk. Works better than benzos for me for anxiety... benzos, although very effective at curing social anxiety, make me stupid and zoned (which doesnt help when talking to people) Very new drug and mark my words... its gonna be huge. it should be. fucking novel

o and ya.... Lyrica potentiates benzos double atleast. Huge potentiation. be careful. it will fuck you up and disinhibit u and u wont realise it. Its really strange. Its fucking terrible to have entire nights completely fucked up on this combo doing CRAZY shit in my memory clear as if i was sober. Double potentiation with NO added memory loss or other assosciated shit. Strange combo. After Lyrica i wouldnt fucking touch benzo's without it. It makes benzos sooo much nicer

Lyrica (pregabalin), as well as Gabitril (tiagabine), Sabril (vigabatrin) or even Phenibut: everything that affects you through GABA is a good thing to get off benzos. And among all these GABAergic drugs, Lyrica is one of the best, and I think you can easily get off benzos with it, without any withdrawal symptom; the problem will be to get off Lyrica... (but it will be easier than to get off benzos without it...)
