Actually, my first few experiences with Lyrica were very, very nice and really took myself out of my head, so to speak, working at least just as well as a benzo. But, with Lyrica use, a rapid tolerance to these effects, and the euphoria of the drug, ensues. I do not know if you have ever taken Lyrica before for an extended period, or any tolerance you might have to it. If not, I would try 50 mg, or so, about 90 min. before your speech. It might hit you a bit harder than you'd think, so make sure you are conscious of like not stumbling and falling down. Initially, for me, it was like a very long-lasting alcohol, without any of the negative effects of alcohol, with a very surprising euphoria and anxiety relief; but, unlike a benzo, my thoughts weren't too cloudy or like that typical benzo-blah feeling. I don't know what strength you have, and like I said I don't know your tolerance. But, with very little or no tolerance, I'd say give 50 mg ago. I said give it 90 min. because it can kind of creep up on you, and even has a very nice, yet quite modest and manageable, psychedelic feeling about it. It isn't like I was outright tripping, but I suppose it was like a hint of that coming from a nice, clean, and fun sedative.
