Lyrica and benzo cross tolerance

Hey,

I stopped xanax cold turkey 2 weeks ago, been feeling the pleasures of withdrawal since, burning skin, depression etc.
I've also used lyrica and baclofen for about a year before on occasions and now I've found them to be really helpful for the withdrawal, (esp the nerve pain part).

Now as far as I'm aware both lyrica and baclofen aren't supposed to be cross tolerant with benzos, but at the same time, I've seen people commenting on different threads that there is some cross tolerance between lyrica and benzos.

So what I'm asking is whether I'm setting myself back here with the withdrawal everytime I take them, like I would by drinking or taking an ambien, or am I been paranoid for no good reason.

Hope someone can help.

I don't believe lyrica binds to either gaba-a or b whereas, baclofen is a gaba-b agonist so I think you're safe using them to combat benzo withdrawal. As long as you don't take them for prolonged periods you should be alright.

Thanks, that's good to know.
So basically baclofen and lyrica aren't cross tolerant with each other or with benzos
