Before anybody tells me to UTFSE, I have and would like more detailed help from actual people please.

Two nights ago I injected some morphine sulphate. I stuck the needle in and registered, but then the needle must have slipped out of the vein, because when I started pushing the plunger down, it was painful. So I immediately stopped and pulled the needle back out. I then proceeded to try again, and this time, I got a clean shot. The next morning when I woke up there was a small, hard lump (the size of a BB??) at the injection site and it was tender. Now, two days later, the lump is still there, but it is no longer tender. What is this? Will it go away? Is it a serious problem? Please help!! :(

if it starts to spread or change in color get medical help right away.. if not try some warm compresses with a damp hot-ish face cloth with some neosporin on the "bb" lump. leave it for 20 minutes.
misses heal best with moist heat, so as much moist heat as you can get will help (just not for too long at a time so you don't burn it and make it worse) those microwave heating pads work great also with a damp papertowel between it and your skin.. hope this helps and gets better.

I think it's a so called sterile abscess(you can google to find info about that). It sometimes happens when an iv injection is done. It's probably not dangerous, but if it turns black and starts to spread, you need to get medical help.

Ok thanks. :) So is this a common problem? I am new to this.

i would say it is pretty common, but people don't post about it everytime it happens to them so i think you might think it's rarer than it really is.. and there might not be much about your specific thing. you can always go thru all the IV complication mega threads if you want, im sure you will find *something* like what you've got.
