Lucid dreaming mega thread

@wtblife yeah ive also had them for nightmares. but id do this thing where (i play too many games) if I was about to get stabbed or something, I would quickly press the X button in the top left of my vision and I would return to safety or wake up, its quite strange but I know im defiantly dreaming so I can do such crazy things :)

I do try and shape my dreams, if I wake up early or something I try and think about stuff before I fall back asleep so I will dream about it, it does sometimes work other times not so good.

At complete awareness in a dream you can change anything you want. Think of inception withtout all the cool story line. When you die you a lucid dream you die in real life LOL J/k. I'm just saying the way that girl could control her dream to any external look she wanted is something I do often. I always thought I had this gift to do something no one else could. It wasn't until that movie that I thought wow, who ever made that movie has to be a lucid dreamer. I looked online and found huge communities of people that do it, and are in the process of learning it. I don't have the ability to do it on command. I'm just lucking in that it happens to me often. So I'm not sure of the exercise others will say. But for me recognizing a constant recurring dream, and looking at clocks and noticing they make no since, lets say you look at a clock and its 2:22 if you look away and look right back it will be 3:33) its always something crazy. It seems that others have also noticed this so I'm thinking it might be the same for everyone.

well.. this is awkward..

anyway.. i always have lucid dreams when i take melatonin and 5htp after rolling. theyre mostly nonsensical, annoying and short though. tripping is way better imo lol.

Tripping cost money, comes with danger, risks of trouble. Lucid dreaming is 100 fold any trip you have ever taken, and if you claim to lucid dream as you so do, then you are mistaken of what it really is. I have never spoke with someone who has had a full blown lucid dream, and there reactions being, this is the most amazing thing in all of life. Unlike lsd, in a lucid dream your in control, not a drug. And if you want to trip on lsd in a dream, you can do that to, with realistic symptoms. All this for free, all this without breaking the law.

5-htp is not even active orally. If it can't get to the brain, whats the point of taking it? \

If you were lucid dreaming it would make since, because you would be creating the dream. try those two steps I mention earlier. They will really help. Let me know if you try them out.

One of the more common ways I have gone into lucidity is that in the dream I read a sign. When I look at the sign a second time it says something completely different. In my dream experience anything you read will say something completely different every time it is read.

Last time I googled 'lucid dreaming FAQ' most of the top results were for community based FAQs that weren't very commercial. The top results now seem from commercial efforts or on sites that sell kits and techniques.

kid. lol. 8)

this entire post is so ridiculous, obnoxious, and just plain retarded it makes me want to go to change my account name lest anyone confuse you for me.

and 5htp is not active orally? what? lol

In my experience with lucid dreaming, it all started in early puberty. I had my first lucid dream during a dream where I was swallowed up by a tsunami. During the dream, I realized that I was now underwater, and was not dead yet. Then, my perception somehow changed, and I realized that I could breath--that's when I knew I was in control of my dream. Once I realized I could control my dreams, I tried to go to class, and have sex with all of the kids that I had a crush on at the time. However, I had not watched porn yet, and only had a vague notion that people grind their pelvises together in order to achieve orgasm.

So, to make up for the lack of experience with porn, I would imagine a female's privates as something very strange indeed. I won't go too far into it, because I'm sure I would disturb some people. However, I will just say that during one partially lucid dream, I remember waking up in the dream and I was somehow intertwined with a large slice of butterball turkey. Needless to say, I was hungry at the time, so I just rationalized that I hadn't eaten meat in weeks, and my mind was trying to get me to seek out more protein.

Anyway, with said scenario aside, my ability to dream lucidly came to an abrupt end when I indulgently imbibed in robitussin, which is strange, because robitussin creates a lucid-dream-like state for me when I take enough of it, in the right circumstances.

ive recently been having these 3 times a week.. i can willfully float out of my body and unlike normal dreams, my surroundings look like they would if i were awake.. it usually begins with a very vivid normal dream and for a minute i'll be awake and unable to move, then slip into the lucid dream.

Lucid dreaming has fascinated me for a long time. i am only aware of ever having two, but in both, i only was aware that i was dreaming for a short period of time (a minute in dreamtime?) before being carried away by the dream again.
I have read a lot of recommendations online to using reality checks. One suggestion is to have a card that you look at regularly with an eye or some other image in it that will supposedly look real in the dream.
Any thoughts/suggestions?

Wow I'm glad I found this thread. I've had lucid dreams consistently ever since I began delving into psychedelics and the thing that really baffles me is when I began recreating the mystical states I achieved in my more advanced trips, almost like a sequel or a continuous chronological dream-story

Lucid Dreaming

I've been interested in Lucid Dreaming for a while now. I have never had much luck keeping a dream journal because I just don't have the time. I have tried different "reality checks" like: looking at my hands throughout the day and asking myself if I'm dreaming. I get really close to lucidity quite often. Like I'll be doing something that I know I couldn't do in real life, and I almost know I'm dreaming, but I'm just having so much fun that I don't care to change what's going on. It's only when I wake up that I'm like wtf how did I not realize that.

Anyone who has had any success with lucid dreaming that might want to share tips would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to become lucid for years, but only once has it ever worked, and I got so excited I woke myself up to acknowledge the fact I had one.

I fly or jump or kind of half fly half fall all the time.

I jump off high things all the time for some reason and hardly ever wake up. I usually fly, have some random safe landing, or die and come out of my body.

It usually takes a lot of effort to fly though. Even if i do, i sometimes convince myself its impossible and i start falling again, but ill catch myself up before i hit and its like a rollercoaster.

Ive had elevator crashes where i die or go into a coma or something and im kind of a ghost i guess.

I had a dream i was driving backwards on the highway and i rammed into a desiel which made me fly out of the back window about a mile above the trees and i just kind of glided everywhere.

I feel like i can only know im dreaming is when im about to die and thats the only thing that saves me haha

other times i think i get really close. like i can fly by myself, but when i go and try and show people, i cant do it.

when i fly i know im dreaming but then i second guess myself. haha probably where my real problem lies.

i have a small amount of experience in lucid dreaming

as a small boy i would have dreams in which everything was normal (laws of science, sociology n whatnot) except id find my self running n diving towards the ground; but id start to fly!
im not talking bout flapping my arms n stuff. i would glide about n cover massive distances n heights.
i would be filled with great fear n anxiety because i would have no control of my flight n i wanted so desperately to wake up.

however, that all changed after i learned the true nature of the universe n superconscious awareness.
Now i cant wait to have such dreams because i have absolute control of myself n iv done some pretty damn amazing things in dreams.
i now wake up with the purest feelings of bliss n happiness about what i just experienced.

to me, what goes on in the dream world is just as important n meaningful as the conscious world.
so the fact that i overcame such fear n inability now is just as important as if i overcame a fear of something in reality
