LSD was not what I expected

I took LSD yesterday and it was not what I expected.

Basically this is what happened: I turned up to a friends house and decided to just take this LSD I had and not tell anyone. I took 4 hits of what Im guessing was weak acid and it lasted 16 hours till I could drive home. Overall it turned out to be a very interesting day.

But I just can't get my head around what happened. Like I don't know if I liked it or I didn't. It was pleasant, but not really enjoyable. It was very intense. That's about all I can say about it.

It kind've felt like my thoughts had been turned off. Because whereas on shrooms it's like I have an intense time, on LSD it's almost like 'I' wasn't even present (or my ego wasn't there). I found myself thinking the whole time "WTF is happening?" The most confusing part about it is I can't put my finger on why it was so confusing. It was kind've similar in some ways to a salvia experience -- dissociating in some way. I feel like you could probably use this drug at a low dose to just plough through hours and hours of tedious work really easily because it keeps you in this thoughtless but pleasant state.

The whole time I was on it I was basically counting down till when I would be sober. But then afterwards I felt pretty rejuvinated and glad I did it.

Does anyone else find it so confusing? Was it what you expected the first time you did it? How do you describe the experience (as briefly as possible)? What do you like most about it?

It's definitely a different sort've hallucination than mushrooms, which is what I was expecting I guess. :D

It was not at all what I expected, I took 2 hits and then 5 a little while later recently. But I loved it! I totally found there was a dissociative effect - in the most serene possible way. I felt like I was a God smirking down at my little ego which has been pretty lost in life lately, with the profound realization that none of it mattered, because I could change any way I like. We create our own reality and what we make of ourselves is up to us.

It was so goofy. I felt like a child experiencing my senses for the first time, in a totally new light. I was at a rave and was laughing so much at all the unique life forms, uncontrollable giggles for hours. It was liberating. It was so extremely stimulating as well, I couldn't stop dancing. The most intense high I have ever felt hands down.

Ever since, I feel like my brain has been reset. The thing I liked most about it was the afterglow. I have felt wonderful ever since, the change has really been drastic and so positive. This is something I did not in the least bit expect - shrooms leave me feeling so scattered, probably because of the harmful effect I believe they have (regardless of what evidence there is of this) on my digestive system.

Yeah, I personally reacted really badly to shrooms two times I took them. Somehow similar to LSD but evil. I did have one good experience with it, when doing the tea.

LSD on the other hand has always been amazing for me. But I never found it confusing, just the opposite actually. It's the only drug I'd do now because the comedown is so nice, like a glowy continuation of the high and then you go to sleep no problem. I definitely felt connected to God and I was a total atheist at the time.

Also, I am assuming there are compounds that might act similar to LSD but not actually be it. Are you 100% positive it was LSD because what you explained doesn't sound like my many many experiences with it. It sounds more like what RAVE above has said.

LSD is hands down to me the best substance.

I'm pretty sure it was LSD. It lasted 16 hours and I was having wild hallucinations. What else could it be? But then again I didn't test it so it could be something else I guess.

I will be doing it again. It was pretty awesome. Just nothing like what I've experienced before. It's almost more spiritual than recreational to me.

acid typically lasts 8-12 for most people. Did yout tab have a chemicle taste? If it was bitter it means it was more then likely a dox chemicle and not LSD.

BTW what was the print u took?

lsd is the most amazing drug ive ever tried. i like to dose high and get the full lsd experience. usually about 20 min after i dose, i feel my stomache start to turn. then the anxiety and restlestness and discomfort kick in. within 5 min i am either sick puking or close to it. the rush of lsd begins. visuals come on suddenly and intensly. i usualy start hearing buzzing/dripping/airplane sounds and for about 5-10 min i undergo an uneasy period of being sober to being tripping balls and i have to use my experience to keep myself in a good mindset, usually by listening to good music and thinking positive thoughts. then once i overcome the initial trial of successfully "blasting off" i cruise smoothly into the rest of my trip and slowly but surely become more comfortable in my new altered state of conscious.

^ Actually, I enjoy creating rich fantasies involving detailed predictions of drugs' effects before I try them. That way, when I've actually tried the drug, I can compare and contrast the real effects with the imagined ones. Of course, every time I try a new drug, I try to predict its effects with more accuracy than the last drug I tried. It's a little game I play.

I dunno man, I reckon acid has residual effects that last into the 16-24 hour mark (mainly the afterglow that is so joyous). Most of the DOx chemicals tend to last for longer then 16hrs though...

Either way, in Australia; well, at least in Victoria, there isn't a heap of non-LSD blotter going around atm, though i do know of a few suspect prints...

Hey OP, keep this in mind: psychedelics cannot be controlled, at least of course not moderate or stronger doses. When I take any psychedelic, I never try to fight the feeling, I just go with the flow.

They don't sound that weak to me, sounds like you had a pretty good intro to acidland. Try less, or try the same dose again but just go with the flow as much as you can. Good luck!

acid can be like that, tricky substance, but always surprising. go with the flow, go in with the right mindset and all will be well.

also, 4hits? sounds like a lot

Is anything ever what you expect it to be? 8(

Well said.

My first acid experience actually resulted in NOTHING happening. I was the only one not tripping in a group of five, so it was a bit discouraging. Since then, I've had several experiences with it, and it is my favorite substance BY FAR.
Give it time, get to know it, and you may be able to handle that confusion a bit better.

Just sounds like you munched a fair bit of acid for your first time and got a lovely acid headfuck! Try a lower dose next time and work your way up, you'll find the experience much better rather than jumping in at the deep end.
