LSD trip duration

I will be trying LSD for the first time this weekend, and I am going to a social event. I know it sounds stupid but we are getting picked up by one of my friends parents, I think, at around 12:00-1:00 am. I will be dropping at about 4:30 or 5:00 pm. My question is, will I be able to function during the car ride back? Its only 30 minutes max, probably more like 15 min. How long does the hardcore tripping last? Will I be able to just sit there quietly? I know nothing is for sure, but I just wanna make sure I dont get in the car hardcore tripping and start saying stupid ass things. So, do the intense hallucinations usually stop within 5-7 hours? I can handle it if it turns into something similar to a mushroom trip or just intense mdma. If you guys dont think I will be able to function then I will listen and just smoke a joint.

onset is about 30-45minutes.. the peak lasts around 4-7 hours.. and you start coming down after the 10hr mark.

I've been back to "baseline" around 12 hours, but a nice afterglow

Yeah I think that taking it at 5pm is too late. If you need to be straight (well straight enough for a friends parent) by 1am...I wouldnt take it any later than like 330pm to be safe...any later than that and you really could be risking it a bit...
