Lsd Tolerance

Ok so one night a while ago i took 1 trip and headed out for a night out. I felt quite happy and giggly but not a full experience. When i got home i decided to drop another 1 1/2. Then i proceeded to trip hard for about 8 hours with some good visuals and mad thought patterns. A brilliant experience.

The next week i went down to my mates house and we planned to take the acid i had remaining. We took 1 each but i got not much effects so about an hour i took another 1 1/2. But still i got nothing even near as good a time as the previous week on the same stuff. My friend was tripping pretty well but again nothing compared to what i had experienced the previous week.

Would tolerance be an issue 6/7 days later as on the same dose i was barely tripping?

Yeah tolerance to LSD or other psychedelics goes up an extreme amount after a single dose, and that tolerance can last up to two weeks roughly.

- Did you eat well, sleep well, get a lot of exercise and sunlight and perform fun activities the week after your first trip? The speed at which we normalize our neurotransmitters is very sensitive to everything we do, and necessary for psychedelics to function properly.

Tolerance with psychedelics can be tricky. Some people experience more tolerance than others and it can vary by the drug. I have taken equal doses of lsd 24 hours apart and only noticed a minor effect from tolerance. You may not be the same though. The only way to be sure is to try it, but after 6/7 days, your tolerance should be minimal if anything at all.

A second point about tolerance is with redosing. Typically, re-dosing after the first dose reaches peak effects will not have very much effect on the intensity of the trip but it will increase the duration. For this reason, most people will tell you that redosing is wasteful and that you should take a single dose.

Usually a week should be enough to more or less reset your LSD tolerance.

Where did you store it?

just in a drawer in the bag it came in

no worries anyway as its not that easy to come by where i come from.

It sounds to me like the issue was that you probably left it too late to redose the second time, while the first time redosing was more successful. In general redosing psychedelics isn't as effective as it is with most other substances, due to the very high acute tolerance they produce.

6-7 days should be plenty of time to be able to trip at around about the same strength again if it's a once off thing - if however you're tripping every week over a period of time you'll notice tolerance build up, and even when you're able to dose enough for the overall intensity to remain the same you'll often get far less out of your trips and they'll be a lot less meaningful. If you weren't tripping very regularly before though it's unlikely you would have had much tolerance left after 6-7 days.

There are however substances that you would still have a significant tolerance for after 6-7 days, like the NBOMe series for example, which can also be found on blotter and are sometimes sold as acid by unscrupulous dealers. It would be pretty obvious if you took an NBOMe substance though as they have a highly bitter taste.

It's possible the hits degraded over the week, especially if the bag was improperly sealed and moisture in the air was able to get in, or if it was exposed to any sort of high temperatures, or excessive touching.

Since your question has been answered, and this is already covered plenty in The Big & Dandy LSD & Shroom Tolerance FAQ and Discussion Thread I'm going to close this. Feel free to continue discussion over there if you have more questions about LSD or Psilocybe mushroom tolerance though. :)

Closed.
