LSD test with blacklight

Last week i bought some paper blotters of lsd again (fourth time)....
I read somewhere that the acid on the paper glows under a blacklight...
the blotters are brown and have a green, yellow, black print on them (i think it's supposed to be a sunflower) But if i hold them under a blacklight I don't see anything special... Though it is an oooold blacklight i don't think that would be the problem...
 
I heard u also had to dip it in alcohol tho?? I dont really know, just dose and see what happens
 
uhh dude, just eat it to see if its real, i think its supposed to glow under a black light if its lsd, but i mean chances of getting anything else are verrrry slim. best way to see if its real is just to eat it and see if you trip. i also think that the blacklight would degrade the lsd.
 
Yeah well i am certainly gonna dose... that's for sure... just asking for some more info on the black light.
Lsd is degraded by UV-light, but not if u hold it in the light for like 5 seconds.... anyways, thx for so far
 
No, you don't need to dip it in alcohol first. But, if your in a dark room, and you shine a black light up to it you SHOULD see the acid on it glow, whether it be in streaks, or a drop of it in the center... it should glow.
 
Yeah, i tried and i don't see anything glow on the carton... :-(
whatever, i'll try it and i'll let it know if i got any acid...
 
wouldn't 100 micrograms be way to little to see it actually?

Most types of blotter paper will glow under a blacklight regardless of whether or not there is LSD present. In fact, it wouldn't suprise me if this rumor was spread by a scammer selling blank blotter by convincing people it had LSD on it because it glowed under a blacklight.

So no, you can't use a black light to determine the presense of LSD on either blotter or in liquid.

As for the comment about dipping LSD in alcohol.. that's ridiculous. It would wash the LSD clean off the blotter. Liquid LSD, however, is LSD mixed in a solution of either distilled water (chlorine destroys LSD) or alcohol.

If you want to determine whether or not your blotter/liquid contains LSD, consume it.

And what the hell is the point of buying supposed acid first and THEN testing it? If it's fake, you already lost your money. What, now that you're out a few bucks you're going to possibly save yourself the trouble of eating blank blotter? Considering you paid at least $5 per tab of paper, you may as well eat it even if there's nothing there.
 
davesoviet, I don't realy believe it either, about the blacklight... That's why i am asking it righthere... Plus, i read it on erowid too (thought that was kind of reliable)
I'm not making a big deal about it, i was just curious if someone with more experience than me knew about it...

+ i would never dip my blotters in alcohol.... that's just stupid!
++ i actually didn't pay for the acid, i got it for my Bday :-)

Ok I've never looked at a blotter under UV light but I have looked at a drop of liquid put onto my hand and belive me it glowed very brightly. I agree it may be hard to see it on a paper because of the colours on the blotter but LSD 100% glows under UV.
 
Ive placed very active blotter under a blacklight with no glow whats soever. I have (right now) a piece of paper that has no lsd on it glowing like crazy under the blacklight.

Blacklight test on blotters means nothing.
 
Now it's proven! My blotters didn't glow eather; hope they are very active as well :D

What I said was liquid LSD glows under Blacklight, Blotter are all different colours. Liquid LSD 100% glows under Blacklight
 
If you consider how much acid is on the average blotter, the likelihood of this being true is very low. If I put a blotter under a blacklight and any part of it other than the ink or blotter itself glowed, I would be cautious of consuming it. I have heard that liquid LSD glows under blacklight, but you would need a visible amount of liquid to see this. Another possibility could be something leftover from synthesis. Some methods of synthesis involve using a blacklight during the final wash to detect impurities left behind by the actual synthesis.
 
LSD crystals glow under backlight.

I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference from a dud sheet to a good one with a backlight.

As they say: 'proof of the pudding is in the eating'. :)
 
Since the LSD will be aborbed throghout the paper, it may be hard for enough light to hit and cause the glowing effect. This may be further impaired by dark blotter. As mentioned above, some types of paper may flouresce under UV light anyway.

Also, there are *many* dyes and inks that will glow in a similar manner w/o being otherwise visible. Dilute yellow highlighter ink, for example. And LSD is not the only drug that will fit onto blotter that flouresces.
