I am about to buy a 10 strip of LSD and want to know if i can use my Ecstasy test kit on it. I have the Marquis/Mandellin/Simons/Mecke test kits and I want to make sure what I am ingesting is indeed LSD. Can someone also tell me a detailed description of how to test this? I am buying these in America so I want to sort out that its not any of the common RCS. They will be the standard 1/4inch tabs, do I just drop the marquis reagent directly on the tab? Im not worried about wasting $10 and destroying one of the tabs, i just want to make sure what i have is LSD.

Hi welcome to PD & BL! :)

No do not drop Marquis on the tab, there is sulfuric acid in it that will burn the paper and produce black stuff that messes it all up.

You gotta extract it first then test the itty bit of liquid you extracted with. This was covered in the thread we have for questions like yours:
http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/498199-The-Big-amp-Dandy-Research-Chemicals-on-Blotters-Thread

Check the first post (OP) that has a FAQ and check the latest pages in which questions about extracting were answered.

Short answer is that yes you can use Marquis on the LSD taken out of the blotter but results may be inconclusive as you will understand from that FAQ ^ (by that I mean listed coloration results seem to vary a little and there may be other compounds that fit on blotter that could show kinda similar colors).
If you want to be sure sure, not probably sure, you will need Ehrlich's reagent which is apparently not in your test kit. No idea what reactions Mandelin, Simons or Mecke would give but it couldn't be too hard to find with a good google query.

It is preferred you use that thread for further questions but we won't be too hard on you especially while you find your way around. I recommend that you take a look at the links below in my signature, the Beginner's FAQ is good for a first orientation and the Index contains links to all the major threads in PD.

Good luck, safe journeys <3

Thanks a lot.quick question though. With the Ehrlich, do i need to do the LSD extraction part?

Yes kind of, the paper obscures color reactions especially if they have a print design. The extraction is really extremely easy and done quickly though, the trickiest part is finding the right container to do it in (quite small and transparent). I'm not really sure what the chances are that you will still be able to see the pink/purple color properly but think of it this way: you don't want to waste a hit if you can easily do it right.. do you?

very true, i didnt realize the extraction would be so easy. ill look up a guide to do this and give it a test with the marquis then. any pro tips for doing this? my main worry is proving its LSD, not proving what it is if it isnt. Basically dont care which RC Chemical it is, i only want to know LSD yes/no hah

The quickest fast and dirty test is to stir/rinse a blotter with ~1ml of methanol or distilled water for about 10 minutes, remove the liquid, and see if it is (ideally) clear under normal light but fluorescent under UV. Blue/white fluorescence is good, anything else suggests it's not LSD.

The NBOMes do not fluoresce, and most fluorescent dyes would color the methanol as well. If some dye from the printing process gets picked up, you can still check to see if it's fluorescent.
