Lysergamides [LSD subthread] Side effects and Reactions

i experienced simular, but i think its more the getting conscious of your breathing that the breathing being difficult. i found it "difficult" to breath, but it was more of an active breathing were you have to make the decision to breath rather than the normal, subconscious breathing.
 
Strange things about acid...

Does anyone ever get this feeling on LSD -

You feel like every time you turn your head to look at something, someone is taking a picture of you. Its not that you think someone is actually taking a picture wit a camera, but you get this feeling of yourself...ah! It's so hard to explain.

When you turn though, you feel as if someone were taking your picture. You might have this sorta-smile and half-fuzzy feeling. You might blink your eyes before you turn your head, in photogenic fashion. This isn't a paranoia thing for me, it's more like a bizarre state of self-awareness when I turn my head to look at something or enter a new room.


Well I tried, but that was really hard to explain. Anyone know what I'm talkin about?

actually, i do know what you mean. on 50mg 2c-b at a psytrance gathering, i got the same feeling. it turned into self loathing - feeling like i was putting too much emphasis on vanity in my life. to rid myself of the feeling, i closed my eyes trying to meditate, & got intense CEV's of people pointing cameras at me...
 
kind of, when i was dosed it felt like everyone that i could see in my perifrial (sp) vision was looking at me. almost as if the room shrunk and we were all really close to each other, this was not the case though everyone was watching tv, the shit cid makes you think and believe is crazy

I see myself looking back at myself looking back at myself many times when tripping- its eerie as all hell. The hills do have eyes; or at least, the walls do.
 
What about this one...

Do you ever do about a billion sighs of relief. The feeling of a big sigh is pretty good on acid. I sometimes find myself breathing sighs of relief like two or three times an hour, sometimes when they're really not neccessary at all.

i've actually done this several times, usually when i was heading out to a concert in new york city.
{i live in brooklyn, 40 mins by subway from Manhattan}
i prefer to be post-peak when i'm seeing music and i have no difficulty navigating the new york city subway system while trippin balls.
be sure ur tickets and concert stash all ready and laid out first
get really stoned at ~3p, take 2 good hits
set 2 reliable alarm clocks, 5p and 520p
porn and j/o...optional
stoned nap.......BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!
getting woken up by an alarm clock fully tripping is odd!!
the noise initially blocks the trip, but in like 10 sec u realize, HOLY FUCK, I'M TRIPPING, WUT HAPPENED!!!
then i see the concert ticket, my concert stash...and quickly realize....grateful dead concert at madison square garden...or wutever concert
and out my door i head, in brightly colored tye dye, onto the subway...onto msg!!

this method avoids a 2 hour comeup and allows me a needed extra 2 hrs of sleep, which was really needed on deadtour!!

but...ONLY TRY THIS WHEN U HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE!!!

WAKING UP TRIPPING IS FUCKIN WEIRD!!!

muscles tight on LSD

the other day i took 2 hits of LSD and my hand kept closing up and my arm felt really tight, it went on most the trip till it wore off and now it feels better but it really worried me and caused me anxiety during the experience, has anyone else felt this?
 
Some tension is not abnormal as part of the "body load", particularly with "dirty" LSD, but your hand closing up involuntarily is a bit more distressing. Did it feel like LSD that you took in terms of subjective effects, timeline, etc? (Not to get into a "what did I take" thread.) You should be fine now, but I might think twice before dosing the same product.
 
yes some tension is to be expected, especially with less than great acid (yes some acid is better than other acid, I think because of LSD degradation by-products).

What you can do to help yourself, get some electrolyte mix (gatorade) and sip that after a few hours into your trip. Also fruit and maybe something else light (yogurt?) will help a lot.

Hydrate yourself well.

Yoga or just any kind of movement (dancing, stretching, hiking, etc).
 
Get into YOga or go for a run while you're tripping. Some physical activity helps.

Also, like SKL and S_S said quality could have been an issue.
 
Definitely possible. I've certainly had jaw tension on LSD before. What amazes me is that after 60 years, no one can say with any certainty why certain "LSD" samples elicit fewer peripheral sides than others. We still don't really know what degradation product is responsible for so-called 'dirty acid.'
 
It happens. Sometimes worse than others (dirty vs. clean acid) I like to stretch before the trip and if my muscles start aching, I do a few stretches. I know what you mean about the aching causing anxiety. It definitely takes away from the trip when you have to worry about your body aching. Get up and do something to take your mind off of it. Before you know it, the aching will stop.
 
im not sure if the acid was "dirty", it was a pretty good trip once i got passed the rough part, maybe i was dehydrated. but its good to know some muscle tension isnt odd.
 
There is no such thing as "dirty" LSD.

LSD is LSD.

If you have LSD that felt significantly different than other doses and was physically uncomfortable with anxiety related to that.

Then it was more than likely NOT LSD and a RC instead.

LSD never produces physical distress bad enough to give anxiety. Rather the tension can come on from anxiety itself if your trip goes that way. And even that anxiety-physical distress is NOTHING compared to RC's which can give horrible physical symptons(DOX, AMT ect.)

As the above poster said, think twice before you dose the same batch of this so-called "LSD". It may be a RC....but we're not here to determine that.

I've always been skeptical of all the 'clean' vs. 'dirty' qualifications as well.

Because I've never noticed a difference, other than dosage.
 
I classify LSD that makes my back ache and muscles tense and has a rough come down as "dirty."
"clean" LSD has no body load and a the come down is pleasant with no aches and pains.

arguing about this never gets anyone anywhere but I have had LSD that is both clean and dirty (as i clasified it above), both were def LSD.

I had some Rainbow Jellies from last summer that had been kept in the fridge for the entire year... just tried them out again and found them to be degraded??? I took a similar dose and it was significantly less lucid and a much "dirtier" experience than the summer before when i found it to be the "cleanest" LSD I had ever encountered. Loved that trip!

not true. There is such a thing as dirty acid. It comes from degradation byproducts not adulterants of other unresearched chemicals (I dislike using the term RC, as if there is actually legit research being done on those chemicals).

LSD can degrade into byproducts like iso-LSD and lumi-LSD which are more toxic to the human body than LSD and account for most the muscle aches and tension if that is prevalent in the tail end (although LSD itself also can cause the body to tense up and ache since it is a powerful psychotropic drug).

Fastandbulbous has made some good posts about this in the past (we've had this discussion too many times to count now!! =D)

I've taken LSD that had my thoughts racing like a psychopath and left me drained at the end of the trip, and I've had LSD that gives me a completely clear mind and left the tail end of the trip to be a very calming and enjoyable experience. There is a difference, no doubt about it.
