[LSD Subthread] First time LSD

You sound like a 16 year old. Dont dose LSD until you have the right set and setting.

Read all the information on Erowid.

Psychedelics are highly subjective. Some people grow immensely, some break down completely. Just two extremes, and you likely won't fall directly into either. As you've also likely noticed - there's a large range of subjectivity as to how "harsh" the chemical is.

Set & setting is indeed everything. Tripping w/ a kind soul who's experienced in the ways is also a very good idea.

I am 22 years old and have read Erowid and Bluelight front to back over the last two or so years.

I didn't ask about set and setting I just meant I get lost in my head sometimes.

I'm aware of all the precauctions to take before dropping, I'd just like to hear other peoples point of views.

I also didn't mean that in a rude manner. I'm a very humble guy and LSD fascinates me just the actual process of going through a trip is new to me.

i had my fair share of boomers....they really fuck with ur head compared to LSD...acid gives me great open eyed visuals not like all cartoony and shit but things move and it reminds me of electricity of all different colors at my peak.....i fuckin love lsd

Start with one tab of LSD, and go from there, on average it is not as unpredictable as mushrooms

i agree, ask old boy how strong they are and hopefully he'll have an idea....if they are strong cut it in half if its blotter ....i know that sum blotter hits in the 60's were ment to be split into 4 seperate doses and people started takin the hole dose to themselves....bad idea ahaha

Don't remember where I heard/read this, but this is how LSD vs Mushrooms were best described to me, and my opinion about them.
Mushrooms: Your in a speeding car, and mushrooms are driving, your in the passenger seat.
They are going to take you where they want to, don't fight it, just relax, lay back, and ride it out.
(In my opinion) Psyclobin is more of a sit down with friends kind of psychedelic, heavy body load, makes you want to lay around, very 'organic' feeling (again opinion).
Mushrooms have always been more unpredictable for me, so I've learned to be more precautions with them.

LSD-25: You are in a speeding car, and your driving, where you go is your choice but L will always be with you in the passenger seat (through out the ride at least).
It's a bit more controllable, some people (myself and others I've talked to) feel as though they can 'let go' or 'pull themselves togather' better on it, if need be.
Also much more energetic, makes you want to do stuff (go for walks, move, etc.), and the visuals are more vibrant/ less earthy feeling, more neon-ish (for lack of a better word).

This all varies obviously by dosage, but comparing LSD to Shrooms (assuming Psyclobin) is apples to oranges anyways.
The only thing they have in common is that they are both hallucinogenics (for the 5millionth time, just an opinion).

I just read on your thread in Ecstasy discussion you are currently suffering from anxiety.
Perhaps wait until that subsides before you try LSD ?

I wouldn't be overly concerned. I had severe anxiety for the best part of the last two years and was able to enjoy most of my trips, just be prepared that if you have any of these kinds of issues they may surface in your trips. As long as you keep and open mind and don't try to control it though, you'll have a good time.

This'll be merged with one of the appropriate main LSD threads once you've had a chance to reply :)

I would try to a very small dose to start out with. Maybe even less than 1 hit depending on how strong the dose is. Just enough for it to "change your thinking" but not enough to actually make you see much, maybe just a few extra halos around objects. I personally love this level of acid and have found it to be just as much if not more fun than dosing heavily.

Much akin to what a lot of people say about IVing buprenorphine. IE less is more.

Obviously you want it to have some effect, but remember that LSD is potent. You can always up your dose, you can't take back a dose once you've already dropped.

Coming from a fairly young tripper who had a very similar dilemma my first few trips, I say go for it. I had gone through dozens of prescribed drugs and none had any profound effect on the symptoms of my case as much as I feel that LSD had. There is a lot that our minds and bodies suppress from us that LSD can unfold, and this can perhaps even be unpleasant at times, but it teaches (much like other psychedelics) to take these vulnerabilities and to rearrange them in a way our minds can understand and embrace as a part of ourselves. LSD imo is usually a lot less anxiety inducing and a lot easier to turn around than mushrooms. I would definitely recommend a trip buddy, someone very very close who knows the situation and how you feel and also is probably experienced in tripping (enough so to have experienced a "bad" trip preferable to know how to handle it in said scenario). I would also recommend waiting until a nice decent day outside, especially if you have any tendencies to get anxious about claustrophobia or being contained. Just remember that LSD is a tool, a guide, and not something to be taken lightly and with the right intentions I'm sure it will show you what you're looking for / what you see, however this must be decided by yourself when the time's right (:

Much love!

Good analogy - Mushrooms are not just a driver, but a drunk driver!

I had a friend who told me this when comparing LSD to Shrooms.

"Shrooms give me questions, Acid gives me answers."

My personal experience is this:

1. Shrooms always give me spiritual/philosophical inspiration.
2. LSD always gives me scientific/career/planning inspiration.

They both give me an immense amount of creativity/understanding, but the topic of those thoughts are completely different.

Shrooms always have about 15 minutes of utter confusion for me as well once they kick in. My friend and I would time our doses so that they'd hit 15 minutes apart, so that when one is in complete confusion the other isn't. After that though, the rest of the trip is always amazingly beautiful to me.

LSD never has that "confusion", and seems to have far more clarity.

I love them both equally.

-------

As far as advice for during the trip, keep these things in mind:

1. If you start getting overwhelmed, go to a place where you can be alone and don't have a lot of noise. Essentially have a safe place you can go to rest your mind.
2. If you are in that safe place, and you still seem overwhelmed by the sensory overload, try to meditate. I told a friend to repeat this once who said everything around him was just so chaotic: "Outer Chaos, Inner Peace", repeat it like a mantra and meditate to it.
3. You won't see anything that isn't actually there (except some fractal/geometric patterns/shapes), but your vision will be completely distorted and hard to recognize what things are if the dose is large enough. My phone lit up the whole room with shimmering lights, but if I turned off the phone, they went away.
4. If you start to get the frustration/anxiety of "wanting it to end", know it will, but you can speed up the process without an anti-psychotic. However, a Xanax/Valium on standby might help.

Make sure you have no obligations, no responsibilities, and nothing that can annoy or frustrate you. Think positively, and have an inspirational experience ;)

I appreciate all the replys. I generally keep a open minded outlook on life so once the time is right I will do it.
Thank you for better explaining some things I did not know.

To good and pleasant trips!

I always thought that cid and shrooms both were like looking at reality as if it was a freshly done painting. acid allows you to move the brush as you see fit to alter the image here and there. mushrooms is like water is falling down the whole painting

First LSD trip

I figured I'd share my first trip with you guys.
I was still a little high from the weed and Tramadol from a few hours earlier. My acid was on bottle cap candies. 2 candies with a total of 3 hits.

I ate the first one and waited for 2 hours but all I could really feel was the pills from earlier. I ate the other piece of candy (ingesting 3 hits) and waited. I went outside to smoke some weed. After smoking a little it started to hit me. My neighbors' black basketball goal (maybe 10yards away) looked as though it were painted. The pole had a segment of yellow, a segment of red, a segment of green, a segment of orange, and a segment of pink. We went back inside and watched the hangover 2. I had this intense body high and I laughed my ass off at just about everything. I remember I was hungry as fuck. I ate 3 tacos from Taco Bell but it didn't satisfy me. I ate a bunch of cookies and candy and i was still hungry. After awhile my friend got tired and went to sleep. He shut the lights out and that's when things took a turn for the worst. I started getting scared and had to constantly turn on the lights. In the dark, the room was spinning. The walls and ceiling were all waving. In the light, my friend looked like a demon. I went to another room where I could watch TV and leave the lights on. I began having spouts of fear followed by euphoria. I was afraid people were outside the window. The windows looked like they were melting. I remember calling another friend because i got pretty scared and I could hardly talk, even to myself I sounded really fucked up and stupid. The couch was moving and looked like it was eating things. I felt like I had turned into nothingness. I didn't really hear anything but sometimes my thoughts sounded really "loud." I got very little sleep. The next day I felt pretty good, after smoking more weed, I felt amazing.

All in all I'd say it was a good trip. I never had any bad visuals but I did get a little paranoid. I didn't feel anything spiritual like I had expected but the next day (after smoking) I did.
