LSD.. semi-uncomfortable place

Alright guys, i need your help here. Its a simple question really and I'm pretty sure alot of people can answer it for me, I think I can answer it myself to be honest, but I want to ask Bluelighters too.

My friends and I are going tripping on saturday & sunday, we're going camping, we leave on monday, but the thing is they want to go somewhere before at around 6 - 7pm and begin tripping then, now I already got scared once on my first trip in the dark, in which i saw a black shade running behind me, when I looked at it, it darted behind a tree and glared at me with red eyes, which creeped the shit out of me and made me leap & run and jump as fast as i could and sprint towards my friends, hiding in the middle of all of them, at least we're not going to that place this time, because I'd be VERY uncomfortable (i keep typing unfortcomtable for some reason, and then correcting it).

The problem is, this place is a big forest type thing, its public, theres a haunted palace near it, but that doesnt really scare me, because A)we're not going to the palace, though we are going in the palace "gardens" (its a forest okay, i dont know why its called a garden). Now.. some of this place is eyriely (please if thats wrong, tell me how to spell it i cant figure it out) dark during day time, like most forests, and they make me semi-uncomfortable when im stoned. Im a paranoid person, and to this day, dark places creep me out very easily, i have a wild imagination and my brain tends to make sounds up from something it hears etcs. Then there are parts with wide openings where you can run around and its lit up by the moon, those parts are comfortable to me at all times, I could sleep there if I wanted to, with no tent or anything.

Now, my question to the bluelighters is... If I went into the eeryie dark places with them(now im a type of person who feels safe around other people no matter what, as long as I can see them), how easy do you think my trip would turn for the worst?

i've tripped in the woods/at my cabin at night before and I was so far away from conventional reality that my fear of these things didn't really surface at all. i was also with a very close friend which probably helped. I'm not actually afraid of these type of environments at all, its just that my mind creates things to be frightened of sometimes when I'm alone, like you said.

A trip in the woods is almost always a great time for me... but really, I think it has most to do with your mind set going in. If you psych yourself up that you're going to be in the forest and it's going to make you paranoid then the paranoia will probably come out.

If you just chill with your friends and focus on all the trippy sights and sounds of the forest that don't feed your paranoia, you should have a fun trip.

Yeah they are close friends, and my first trip was in a nature reserve, and i talked to a tree, and watched it regrow within 10 minutes(wtfx?). http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=473629 <--- trip report.

Its a maltese story, the ghost is called the White Lady, apparently she's harmless but looks creepy lol. Apparently you can see her wandering around the gardens, but close to the palace, and from the window she jumped out of.. or something. I think she killed herself because her husband died or something, i dont really know the story, it never interested me much.

According to real life testimonies on a maltese show called "xarabank" alot of satanic rituals, etc occur in these woods.

you'll probably want a bunch of potions and a good shield and be at least level 12 to assault the haunted palace - i was lvl 10 and i totally died.. ;)

but, seriously - i had my worst LSD experience because i was left alone in the woods at night on 8 blotters.. i talked to myself in a british accent for a while and that was fun, but then it got dark and things seemed spookier and spookier - i saw jeweled snakes and i thought some monster was down in this big sinkhole.. so, i ran into civilization all freaked out - i went into a grocery store and started climbing up the piles of dogfood yelling about the end of the world...

are you sure it wouldnt be better with a 2 hand polearm, with high probability of parry / block? :P

yeah.. i just dont wanna zone out into the void.. thats my ultimate fear, when all i can see is black, even when im sober, if my eyes are open and I cant see because its black, i freak out. I know I sound like a 5 year old, but the dark just never stopped scaring me :( maybe something happened when I was young that I cant remember.. I dont know.

right - i have had fine times in the woods at night with a good number of people - like 8 or 12 of us all frying.. :) one other person can be sufficient, but i recommend a couple friends nearby at all times at night in the forest.. otherwise you are likely to be eaten by a grue! ;)

the woods are not for me, one of me first times we went out to some woods not far from home. All was well having a good time, then we heard some dogs barking, and these were some seriously vicious barks...

needless to say it scared us all shitless and we bailed double time, not a good night :(

what i'm trying to say is, in the woods any shadey noise when tripping can end up bad. Unless your totally cool with yourself.

If you see the shadow people (or anythin like that) approach them with the intention of getting to know them.. they're pretty nice people.

The woods never bothered any of us, i got pretty lost at this one festival tripping really hard and i had let someone use my flashlight, so i ended up going for a walk through the woods with my cell phone at night.

Just don't worry about it, there is probably nothing in the woods that is going to eat you, more than likely you will just be sitting around the camp fire all night.

The reason we don't like the dark is not so much a fear of darkness itself, rather not knowing what the darkness hides.

The solution, bring flashlights and stop trying to worry about something in the woods... local wildlife make noise....
