Since I started doing psychedelics, I have always pursued what I have thought to be the king of them, of course LSD.
2 years I had been searching for this supposed beautiful chemical that I never had tried before.. although I am a seasoned user of psychedelics in general, having tried weed, mushrooms, DMT, DXM, Ketamine, and a whole mess of RC's numerous times in my day.
So, about 3 weeks ago my friend R told me he had procured some very high quality LSD blotter tabs, nicknamed "rockstars" and "blue buddhas".
For my first trip I took 2 of the blue buddhas, and it was very cool indeed.. different from anything I had ever done before. Colors were amazing-- things warped and shifted, I had amazing CEV's, and euphoria like none other. I regret to say that while my first experience with LSD was amazing, I thought I didn't even get a taste of what this visonary chemical has to offer.
So for this 4th of July 2003, I decided to give the LSD another try, and started out with a blue buddha tab around 7:00 at my friend's BBQ. By 7:30, I was coming up pretty quickly, just as R was, since he dropped his tab around the same time that I did. My girlfriend K showed up, and she dropped as well. Our friend C who was sober this evening wanted to go on a drive to R's house to pick up some CD's for the evening's festivities. After we got to R's, he turned on milkdrop on his computer to some Paul Van Dyk. The colors from this were so intense that the milkdrop visualizations appeared to be affecting the walls surrounding his computer monitor.
R suggested that him and I should both drop 2 more tabs, but this time take the rockstars. This brought us both up to 3 tabs each for the night. By this time, K was coming up pretty well on hers, and was giggling maniacally. I asked her what was so funny and she just responded with more laughter.
Within 10 minutes of taking the extra 2 tabs, I was getting slapped upside the head with colors. Everything in R's room was glowing and pulsing with color, and he had turned up the techno, this time with Underworld. I stood up, and the minute I was upright, my entire vision seemed to have slowed down into frames of color. I yelled at R, "everything is in frames!!" and he just responded by smiling like a madman and giggling. We decided it was time to get back to the BBQ to see the fireworks. It took a good 45 minutes for C to get me, R, and K rounded up and into the car. I can only imagine that it was like dealing with a bunch of retarded kindergarteners, except worse.
When we were finally in the car and on our way, C popped in Mr Bungle's California. Pretty soon I could definitely tell that I was at the peak of my trip. While we were driving, all the buildings and scenery I saw looked straight out of a cartoon. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw a rabbit holding hands with a racoon. This made me bust out with laughter.. I couldn't even control myself anymore. C asked what was so funny and I managed to say that I would explain later. Goodbye Sober Day came on and he turned it up.
I looked up at the sky through the sunroof of the car and saw palm trees that were immensely tall. This seemed odd to me, since the nearest palm tree to where I live had to be at least 1000 miles away. I looked closer and the trees started to dance and change colors. I gasped--it was as if the door that connected my imagination to the real world was broken. I seriously could not tell the difference between my hallucinations and the real world. My mind was completely bent.
By the time we got back to G's BBQ, the fireworks were just starting. We climbed on top of G's garage, which was a pretty hard task in itself since I could barely see at this point. The colors had gotten so intense that it seemed like I had stepped into an oil painting, and all the paint was smeared and dripping all the different colors of the rainbow. I looked up at the sky and heard a BOOM--fireworks were ripping the sky apart. My jaw dropped. I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life. Every blast of light that the fireworks emitted flashed every color in the spectrum. I grabbed K and hugged her, and she just smiled and kissed me.
After what seemed to me an eternity, the fireworks were finally over. I was coming down from my peak a bit, but I was still going strong. Everyone at G's BBQ that I talked to looked like their was was camouflage with green and purple. I chilled out and drank some soda. I enjoyed the rest of the night attempting to play hack which I found was nearly impossible at my present state. It was nearing about 1:30 AM and K said she wanted to head back to my house. I agreed and said my goodbyes to everyone, and gave R a big hug and told him to enjoy the rest of his trip.
K had come down enough to drive well, and we both laid down in my bed when we got to my house. It felt wonderful--my body was tired and I sunk into the matress. My mind, however, was still going a million miles per hour. I closed my eyes and hugged K. With my eyes closed, I was still getting amazing CEV's--some were equations that made no sense to me, people, places I had been, and vivid scenery. I finally drifted off to sleep around 6 AM and woke up refreshed in the morning with K in my arms. I poked her and she opened her eyes and smiled at me.
Never before this night had I even imagined that one could trip like I did. I will never underestimate the mind expanding potential of LSD again, and I am excited to try it again soon.
