Flickering

Some say that once you've taken enough LSD, taking more won't do anything else for you, except maybe draw out the length of the trip. If it appears more intense, that's purely psychological, a matter of expectation. So is this a myth? And if not, where's the cutoff point? 600 micrograms? 5mg? I've never heard a straight answer on this or seen evidence for it either way. All I can say is, I can't even imagine the intensity of a trip on several milligrams of the stuff.
I am writing a book that features an extreme dose of LSD as a central plot point, though I've never taken more than two tabs myself. So I'm wondering if the time dilation, ego distortion, visual disconnection with reality, sheer mindfuck, etc. has a limit... because let's just say this character trips harder than you'd tend to think possible.
Well, there's one way to find out of course. But for now, no, I'm not game to eat half a sheet of acid, like some people claim to have done.
