On Monday, Houston Police Department Homicide was investigating the death of a 21-year-old Friendswood man who was found unresponsive in a car in the 1000 block of Kress on Saturday morning.

Kevin Schoolmeyer, 21, was on his way home from a rave with a friend at around 6:15 a.m. on June 16. His friend told police that Schoolmeyer became enraged, pulled over to park on the side of the road and ordered the friend to get out of the car. The friend walked away, but returned a short time later to find Schoolmeyer unresponsive. Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Schoolmeyer dead.

Later, the friend told police Schoolmeyer may have bought drugs at the rave and he may have been under the influence of LSD. The rave –“Illuminaughty” – was organized by a local Friendswood teen. It was the venue that Schoolmeyer had attended the evening of his death. According to Facebook events, another “Illuminaughty” rave, also organized by the same Friendswood teen, will be held June 22 in Houston, possibly putting more youth at risk of exposure to the drug that killed Schoolmeyer.

On June 11 at 11:51 p.m., a 17-year old Friendswood teen was transported to the emergency room after she took three hits of LSD “acid” at her home in the 900 block of Remington Ct. A friend of the victim in this case also told police that they had bought the LSD at a rave party in Houston. Friendswood medics were called when the teen began having seizures.

ban it again!!!

edit: seriously: a link to lab tests of all this bad "LSD" in the recent news would be appreciated, not just by BL but by the world. People need to know what they're actually taking.

Exactly...3 hits of the chemical "LSD" wouldn't cause overdose deaths whereas 3 hits of unknown RC "x" could cause health problems like seizures, if not death.

To be honest Houston has so much bad shit around latley I don't even fuck around no more and it's not by choice.

Another thing I want to mention is how they are targeting the wrong crowd with their warnings. Most kids, no, PEOPLE, that use drugs are aware that they police are there to catch them. They already don't like the police and don't like being told what to do by the police so why do the cops think they can warn people and they will listen?

People that want to get high on various drugs are going to get high whether or not getting high is illegal or dangerous. People aren't going to magically be like "well...the cops say its bad so I should stop," even more so after they or a friend/family member has been a victim of the police in the war on drugs. I consider the victims to be the people who have had their lives ruined by arrests and thats just the start of why the war on drugs is bullshit.

I'm on drug court because of possession of a controlled substance (class-c felony in missouri). Indeed possession laws against personal use are ridiculous. Also, with drugs being illegal, it can cause various "irresponsible/uneducated" dealers to use dangerous cuts or false marketing (DOX/various other RCs as LSD) or the new plague of PMA/PMMA begin sold as MDMA/MDA/MDEA/ecstasy. Lots of these "illegal drugs" are relatively safe when the user knows what they are using and how much active ingredient there is. From personal experience: I never OD'd on oxycontin because I knew how many milligrams were in each pill and could judge my dose. Street heroin on the otherhand was being cut with fentanyl and varying quality caused me 30+ overdoses. Now can I get my script for diamorphine and be a safe junkie please? Oh and expunge my record too =D
